The Bachelorette star Jenn Tran didn’t have any scaries about her Halloween Nightmares score on Dancing With the Stars despite her elimination.
“I grew up watching the show and dreaming to be on it,” Jenn, 26, told Us Weekly exclusively following the DWTS live show on Tuesday, October 29. “Every week I got to live out my dreams in rehearsals, getting to dance, getting to put on a performance and then getting a 10.”
Prior to being on the show, Jenn “never” saw herself as a dancer.
“[I] always wanted to be, and so I’m so happy and grateful and proud that we were able to work hard and get that 10,” she continued to Us. “It just proves that anybody can do anything they put their mind to.”
Jenn and partner Sasha Farber danced a contemporary routine to “Vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo and received a score of 28 out of 30. Jenn joked in her intro package that she’s dated some vampires in the past, and she told Us her best tips for getting over this type of man.
“I have a whole sad playlist that helps with breakups,” she admitted. “Mainly a lot of Taylor Swift, you know, ‘Picture to Burn.’ A lot of Olivia Rodrigo, ‘Traitor,’ literally everything and anything. I cry a lot. … I have a whole playlist called ‘Cry.’”
When it came to her actual dance routine, there was nothing to cry about. Jenn definitely measured up against her fellow DWTS competitors on Tuesday night but was sent home at the end of the episode.
When it came to her biggest lesson from the competition, Jenn said she’s “a lot tougher” than she ever imagined.
“I can take a lot more than I thought. I always had thick skin growing up, but this environment, being here, it’s a lot,” the reality star admitted. “To put endless hours of work into a dance, and then to have one minute to prove yourself. That’s a lot of pressure mentally, and every week I proved to myself that I could do it under the pressure. I’m just so proud of myself that I could do that.”
Sasha, 40, was quick to compliment Jenn’s work ethic as well.
“She never wants to stop,” he told Us. “Once she’s got a goal, she’s going to go get it.”
It appears the former partners have created a lifelong friendship.
“She’s just super funny, and I’m grateful that I got to meet her,” Sasha added.
Dancing With the Stars airs simultaneously on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays on ABC at 8 p.m. ET. You can stream episodes on Disney+ the next day.
