Alexia Echevarria’s husband Todd Nepola issued a public apology to Dr. Nicole Martin’s fiancé Anthony Lopez after the two engaged in a strange argument on Real Housewives of Miami.
In the scene, which occurred at a couples’ lunch, Todd spoke negatively about Anthony’s business after intervening in an argument between Nicole and Alexia.
In a post shared by @allabouttrh on Instagram, Todd issued a public apology to Anthony.
“Anthony, please accept my sincere apologies for wrongly mentioning your company on TV in a derogatory way,” said Todd, reading from a piece of paper. “Not only that I have no right to mention your firm, I had no knowledge about the company. It was a stupid and uncalled for comment. TV got the ugly out of me and I’m really sorry.”
Todd shared his hope that this “won’t create any tension” for them going forward, and he then sent him a card, flowers, and Godiva chocolates – making a reference to their argument when Todd shaded Anthony over the sending of flowers to another man.
“In this particular case, I made a public statement on TV, which means I need to make a public apology, which is why I’m using social media to apologize to Anthony’s entire team.”
Todd explained that “never in [his] wildest dreams” did he imagine that the scene would “play out that way,” and he claimed that “five minutes later” he and Anthony were “fine,” and they had drinks together.
“And in fact, a couple of months later, he and I talked and we discussed the possibility of me even managing some of his shopping centers that he owns. I truly thought we were fine,” he continued. “But after seeing the scene play out on TV, I would understand that he feels he’s owed an apology, which he’s right. He is owed an apology and so is everyone who works for him, and all the vendors affiliated with him. I was wrong.”
Todd shared that he’s “embarrassed by [his] behavior,” and suggested there was a backstory to his actions – referencing the “lawyer’s luncheon” when Nicole pulled out an “Amex card” and “stuck it to the lawyer.”
He then claimed the “powers that be” of the show were “getting in [my] ear,” telling him how “this horrible situation” went down and asking Todd how he could let it happen in his own house.
According to Todd’s story, Alexia was arguing with a producer on the way to the couples’ lunch because Alexia didn’t want to discuss her previous drama with Nicole during the meal.
Todd claimed Alexia “lost” the argument, and therefore discussed the issue at the table. Beforehand, however, a producer allegedly told Todd, “‘[You need to] stick up [for] your wife if this gets heated, because if you don’t, there’s been other men who haven’t stood up for their wives on these shows and America’s destroyed these guys.'”
After the post, Anthony responded to the apology.
“No hard feelings Todd. I truly appreciate the sentiment; although unnecessary, it was well received (as were the flowers and chocolates),” he wrote, via @queensofbravo on Instagram.
His wife Nicole added, “Happy to put this one behind us.”
