'Dancing With the Stars' pro-turned-judge Derek Hough was given a run for his money by a 15-year-old girl.
Dancing With the Stars pro-turned-judge Derek Hough announced back in May that he would be launching a new dance symposium/workshop with Ovation Dance. He and his sister Julianne Hough are tour directors, and other dancers involved include Dancing With the Stars pros Mark Ballas, Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson plus other professional dancers professional dancers Talia Favia, Dom Kelley, Will Loftis, Comfort Fedoke, Robbie Blue and Nika Kljun.
On Monday, June 16, Hough posted a video from the Ovation class that recently took place in Las Vegas, where a brave (and insanely talented) 15-year-old girl took him on with absolutely no fear.
"Had the joy of teaching a class in Vegas the other day, and at the very end, one young dancer stayed behind. I asked her to dance the combo one more time, but to face me. Without hesitation, she did," writes Hough on the video caption. "Only 15 years old, not being her strongest style or discipline of dance, and yet she showed up and danced fearlessly. Well done @victoriadance18."
The dancer in question is Victoria Johnson. Back in January, she celebrated taking 1st place at the Youth America Grand Prix for the third year in a row. She clearly has a bright future as a dancer.
In the comments on Hough's video, his fans cannot believe that this isn't even her "strongest style."
"'Not' being her strongest style is wilddddd. She’s amazing now I wanna see what her strongest style is 🤩," wrote one fan.
Another fan added, "This isn’t her strongest style?! She’s amazing!"
"This is amazing. If this is not her strongest, imagine seeing her do what she loves best. This is talent," wrote a third fan.
They were also quick to praise Hough as a teacher, with one fan writing, "I love that you did that with her. That’s what a great teacher does."
Another fan added, "Absolutely amazing 👏👏❤️ Surely a dream come true for her ❤️❤️."
Dancing With the Stars returns for its 34th season in the fall of 2025 on ABC and Hulu.
