A wide range of celebrities have competed for the Mirrorball Trophy on Dancing with the Stars. From actors to reality stars to athletes. And now, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion Charlotte Flair shared that she’d love a shot too.
DWTS has always tried to keep it diverse when choosing its roster each season. The show has seen its share of reality stars like those from Bachelor Nation and even Real Housewives. It has also had athletes and Olympians. And last season it even had its first convicted con artist in Anna Delvey. Who can forget her in her bedazzled ankle monitor?
Should WWE’s Charlotte Flair join the DWTS cast?
Charlotte recently appeared on the Nikki and Brie Show podcast. She talked with Nikki Garcia and Brie Garcia about their shared experiences in wrestling, her famous father, and her goals and dreams for the future. And as it turns out, one of those goals is to compete in the ballroom.
After the trio spoke about wrestling, Nikki turned the spotlight on Charlotte’s goals outside the ring (approximately the 28:40 mark). “What would you crave to do most, that like people really haven’t seen from you outside the ring?” Nikki asked.
“Oh Nikki, I want to do Dancing with the Stars, so bad!” Charlotte told her. Her face lit up when she talked about it. And Nikki replied immediately that she should absolutely do DWTS. Charlotte also mentioned she’d love to do RuPaul’s Drag Race. Both shows are on her bucket list and she’s “manifesting” them. But would they include her pre-show ritual?
Nikki kept repeating that Charlotte should absolutely do DWTS and said they were probably still looking for people for the newest season. So far, just a few cast announcements have been made including the late Steve Irwin’s son Robert Irwin and influencer Alix Earle.
“Fingers crossed,” Charlotte said.
“Oh my god, I am so … fingers crossed for you,” Nikki replied.
If ever, Charlotte would be the third female wrestler on the show. Stacy Keibler competed in Season 2 and Nikki competed in Season 25 with Artem Chigvintsev who she later married and then divorced.
As for the men, professional wrestler Chris Jericho competed on Season 12 and the Miz (Michael Gregory Mizanin) appeared on Season 30.
