Why RHOM’s Season 7 Guerdy Abraira and Julia Lemigova Feud Makes Zero Sense — Opinion tram

Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Miami is serving up plenty of feuds. This season of RHOM is fiery! First, Larsa Pippen is beefing with Lisa Hochstein over loyalty. Larsa felt that Lisa wasn’t loyal to her and was taking her ex-boyfriend, Marcus Jordan’s side. Meanwhile, Lisa’s boyfriend, Jody Glidden, has mutual friends with Marcus. Of course, Larsa expected Lisa to control who Jody could socialize with.

Then, we had the falling out that no one expected. Guerdy Abraira’s shocking feud with longtime friend Julia Lemigova was not on my bingo card. This friendship breakup made me sad. Last season, while Guerdy was battling breast cancer, Julia was by her side.

However, Season 7 showed a different side of Julia. The duo’s disagreement seems to be over something so trivial, I find it hard to believe that these issues broke their relationship. Yet, here we are. Let’s look at why RHOM’s Season 7 feud between Julia and Guerdy makes zero sense.

What caused the RHOM feud between Guerdy Abraira and Julia Lemigova in Season 7?

When Julia and her wife, Martina Navratilova, expanded their family by adopting two little boys, Julia organized a Zoom call to tell all of her RHOM co-stars. However, Guerdy’s call dropped, and this seemed to annoy Julia. According to Julia, Guerdy texted and asked for another link, but Julia was incredibly busy. Instead, she told Guerdy that the news was out.

Of course, this seemed like an odd response. So, when Guerdy texted the word “Congrats,” Julia deemed the message “cold.” It is still a mystery why Julia couldn’t simply text or call Guerdy. And why didn’t Guerdy call Julia and at least leave a congratulatory message?

Then, RHOM alum Dr. Nicole Martin weighed in on Guerdy and Julia’s feud via social media. Nicole defended Guerdy, writing, “This is the type of petty nonsense that makes being in this friend group too stressful. Everything gets exaggerated and taken out of context for the sake of making a scene.” She added, “Sorry @guerdydesign has to go through this nonsense.” I mean, Nicole is correct, and I miss her this season. This blow-up about a dropped call and not sharing the news with Guerdy is bordering on the ridiculous.

Guerdy took to social media to expose Julia’s texts as RHOM Season 7 airs

Well, Guerdy shared her side of the drama via social media shortly after the Season 7 RHOM premiere. She posted her text messages with Julia via Instagram, and it was a jaw-dropper. After Guerdy couldn’t access the call, she had to attend a meeting. So, she texted her former bestie, “Hi. Are u sending a new link? Never worked when I tried it 3 times.”

Then Julia sent a response that made my head spin. “Hi! Sorry, my friend, I don’t know what went wrong. Sorry you couldn’t get in,” Julia wrote. “I had something amazing to tell you guys at the same time … now it’s out and have been publicly announced.”

A confused Guerdy replied, “Oh, ok, so I guess I’ll look online for this announcement?!? K.” Cue Julia’s explanation for why she couldn’t share the news with Guerdy. Julia texted that her “hands are literally full right now,” and that Guerdy would understand everything when she read the news. So, Guerdy wrote over the text thread, “Mind you, she never told me the news by text or by phone, so she literally made me FETCH the information, and after googling it, I still said CONGRATS!!!”

However, Guerdy wasn’t done dropping receipts. Next, she shared a video via Instagram, which has since been deleted. Her post included a birthday message to Julia. Guerdy pointed out that it was the final message before “Julia’s Zoom storyline (or storyLIE).”

She added that Julia had her “fetch for the news online like a god.” In addition, Guerdy claimed that Julia may have lied about dictating her message because she included custom emojis. In Episode 2 of RHOM, Julia clearly stated that she dictated the text to Guerdy. Obviously, Guerdy isn’t shy about sharing her side of their dispute.

Why Julia’s explanation of the feud with Guerdy doesn’t make sense

Welp, after Guerdy dropped her first batch of receipts, Julia seemed to backtrack. She posted an explanation via Instagram. “My beautiful souls,” Julia wrote, “this season, you’ve seen a different side of me, one I’ve struggled to fully explain.”

While she and Martina were thrilled to welcome their sons, there was an important issue tempering their joy. “But here’s the part that no one saw: the adoptions weren’t finalized. It was overwhelming,” Julia posted. She added that the experience was “beautiful, yes, but also fragile, sacred, and stressful beyond words.” I can understand that, but why not tell her besties among the RHOM crew?

Julia continued, “So when moments came up, like sending that strange message you all saw, I didn’t always show up as my most present or thoughtful self. And when it came to Guerdy, the truth is, at the time, we weren’t in the close, heart-connected place we had once been.” She added, “Our friendship had shifted a bit.” Still, this response seems a bit … weird.

“So, when she reached out, I was so wrapped in protecting my own emotional chaos, I fumbled. I never meant to come off cold, careless, or bizarre. I was simply in a storm of my own,” Julia stated.

However, this wasn’t Julia’s only issue with Guerdy. During Episode 2 of RHOM, Julia told Alexia Nepola that Guerdy volunteered to accompany her on a cruise when Martina was unable to go. “And Guerdy made it all about publicity, herself, her PR, and was texting me the most insane messages,” Julia told Alexia.

In her confessional, Julia read aloud the text messages that were allegedly from Guerdy. “They don’t have my name on the dinner reservation. Not sure why they separated us since I came only because of you. I was moved to the side for this exclusive party,” Julia read. “Anyway, all good here. I had dinner alone. See you around.” Yikes!

What does the future hold for Julia and Guerdy’s friendship?
RHOM
It doesn’t sound as if the falling out between Julia and Guerdy will be repaired anytime soon. I’m not sure why their disagreement over this cruise is a big deal. Again, these incidents seem like petty squabbles. During Season 7, Julia stated that Guerdy was “not my safe space anymore.”

Recently, Guerdy made it clear that she and Julia are still on the outs. “Right now, I’m not on speaking terms with Julia. Adriana [de Moura] is not on speaking terms with Julia, and everybody else, I think, is decent,” Guerdy stated.

And the high-end party planner also slammed Julia’s loyalty. “You’re loyal when there’s no cameras, and that was me,” Guerdy previously explained, “and she was loyal to the camera, is how I’m going to pretty much say that.” She added, “I don’t know what she’s saying on the other side, and it doesn’t really matter because the truth will 100% clear it up real quick. The facts are the facts, and I have them all.”

Plus, Alexia and Marysol Patton confirmed that during filming, Julia allegedly poured a drink over Guerdy. Once an argument reaches that point, that is not easy to come back from. Sadly, this longtime friendship sounds as if it could be over for good. Perhaps, after some time, the former besties could try and mend their relationship. Have some cockies, ladies, and work this out!

It would be a shame for their friendship to end over a dropped call, a mishap on a cruise, and Julia telling Guerdy to read her announcement in the media.
