This Morning fans were not pleased when the daytime favourite was cut short as part of a big ITV schedule shake up
This Morning fans have expressed their annoyance that the ITV programme was cut short on Tuesday, March 11 after the network conducted a major schedule switch up, with four other shows facing the chop.
Loose Women, Alan Titchmarsh's Gardening Club, Tipping Point and Lingo , which usually air after This Morning have all been taken off air in a bid to make way for Cheltenham Festival coverage.
Although, the show hosted by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard wasn't removed from the schedule completely, like the other programmes, the daytime favourite was cut short by 20 minutes.
Ordinarily, This Morning would normally kick-off at 10am and finish at 12:30pm, and viewers would then be taken straight to the Loose Women studio for their daily digest.
However, with today's interruptions This Morning finished at the new time of 12:10pm, with a quick showing of ITV's Lunchtime News, before the Cheltenham Festival gets going at 12:45pm.
Fans took to social media platform X to air their frustrations, with comments like: "Wait what happened to this morning? And why is the news on?"
And: "F*** the racing! I want to complain and Tweet about daytime TV!"
There is further disruption ahead for the network with the horse racing kicking off on Tuesday, March 11 and continuing until Friday, March 14, meaning other programmes will need to be moved.
ITV Racing also plan to cover The Opening Show, which is a deep digest of activities across each day for the festival - according to reports this will air from 9am until 10am.
This means that the likes of 1980s US drama Magnum P.I. have been taken off the regular schedule to make way for reruns of the British drama Robin of Sherwood only to be pushed forward.
Fortunately, Bradley Walsh and his team of chasers can breathe a sigh of relief as The Chase has managed to resume its normal allotted weekday slot without having to switch up at all.
It is understood that ITV's broadcasting schedule will return to it's normal format following the Cheltenham run this week, with the normal TV rota believed to be firmly back in play come Monday, March 17.
The four day festival is due to kick off on Tuesday with Champion Day, a race that sees Supreme Novices' take on the Champion Hurdle.
Day two, is the famous fashion and style awards also known as Ladies Day which is the tribute Queen Mother Champion Chase. This is followed by St. Patrick's Thursday, containing races such as the Ryanair Chase and the Stayers' Hurdle.
The festival then wraps up with Gold Cup Day, with the award of the Cheltenham Gold Cup being distributed, one of the most prestigious awards in the racing industry.
This Morning will continue to air on ITV1, from 10am week days.
