Unpopular Opinion: Lexi Wood Shouldn’t Return to Summer House tram

I won’t say I told you so, but I did note early on that I thought Lexi Wood might be a hard sell for Summer House. While it’s already hard to introduce a brand-new face among roommates who have known each other for years, Lexi felt like more of a push from the network. The Canadian model is sweet enough, but as a viewer, I’m bored, and that literally started the moment she walked through the door. So, here’s why I think Ms. Wood should be a one-hit wonder.

Lexi Wood feels too young for Summer House

The 27-year-old is just too young to be in a shared summer house with roommates in their 30s and early 40s. I say this with love, and even if she could have been the most mature person in the room (which she isn’t), it still wouldn’t help the divide. Most of the cast have had real-life experience. Lexi works in the beauty industry with her mom and sister right by her side, which feels like a bit of coddling. As a viewer, I find it hard to relate to Lexi. I don’t think the newbie has acted badly, I just think, like Paige DeSorbo, that she is acting like a typical 27-year-old.

She is allowing Jesse Solomon to toy with her emotions. I was no better at 27. But I also wasn’t in a shared house with people who were in high school when I was born. I don’t think Lexi has formed a real bond with any of the older castmates. Paige and Ciara Miller have both commented about the lack of growth and inability to trust Jesse. While it isn’t all Lexi’s fault, she definitely contributes to some of the house drama.

Ciara Miller and Jesse Solomon was one of Summer House’s best friendships, and Lexi Wood has tainted that

If all the photos of Jesse and Ciara all over social media recently aren’t enough to convince fans that something is going on, I don’t know what is. This entire Summer House season, Jesse has been flirting his luxurious curls off when it comes to the nurse. But perhaps the most telling interaction was when Jesse was left alone for a weekend and spent the entire time with Ciara. The chemistry was palpable, and to be honest, they’d be a good couple. But before the possible connection, Ciara and Jesse had a good friendship.

In recent years, their friendship has brought a cute theme to Summer House. Both seemed genuinely invested in one another’s lives. However, the moment Lexi entered the house, the dynamic of their friendship changed. Ciara has been put into an awkward position and has been called out by Jesse for her friendly ways. No one would have thought anything of their interactions if Lexi hadn’t entered the house. In fact, Jesse flirted just as much with Ciara last year when she was with West Wilson. And there was no problem then.

Lexi Wood’s Summer House drama feels uninteresting

Bottom line, Lexi’s drama is super uninteresting. If I wanted to watch a girl act a bit reckless with her feelings, I’d tune in for Next Gen NYC. Lexi loves to talk about how she is an old-fashioned girl when it comes to dating. During a Summer House After Show, she noted, “I told him, I was like, look it, I’m like an old-school girl, as much as you’re telling me you’re exclusive with me, I want like a little prom-posal type vibe. He told me as soon as we met, we were exclusive. He like wanted me to go to his family reunion with him the week that we met. It was like a whole thing.” Frankly, it all seems forced. And fans aren’t invested in her storylines.

Lexi is trying to make fetch happen (IYKYK) by keeping the drama alive. This week, Jesse and Ciara were snapped at Coachella together, and the newbie had opinions. She told Page Six, “I am not necessarily surprised because I had a birthday party and I invited everyone, and a certain two people didn’t answer, and then a certain two people hung out that day instead.” Overall, I think Lexi has potential for Summer House, but she needs a few more years in the real world.
