UFC Hall of Famer's astonishing claim: Jake Paul has a better record than Canelo and McGregor

While Jake Paul has amassed a notable list of victories, there remains a major criticism, as he has yet to face a top-tier, prime boxer that would validate his status as a serious contender. Paul's career has been marked by careful opponent selection, often opting for fighters who are either past their peak or come from different combat sports backgrounds, such as MMA.

His most significant test came against Tommy Fury, a professional boxer near his own age, where Paul suffered his first career defeat. This loss has fueled skepticism about whether he can compete at the highest levels of the sport.

Sonnen's surprising remarks
However, not everyone is dismissive of Paul's ambitions. Former UFC fighter and combat analyst Chael Sonnen has expressed a different perspective. In a recent discussion on his YouTube channel, Sonnen commended Paul for his boldness in calling out big names like Canelo Alvarez and Conor McGregor.

Sonnen appreciates Paul's consistency and audacity in trying to set up these high-profile bouts, seeing it as a sign of his commitment to taking on challenging opponents.

In a surprising twist, Sonnen even claimed that Jake Paul's current boxing record, based on certain criteria, might be more impressive than those of Canelo Alvarez and Conor McGregor.

"He might have started this, calling out Canelo," Sonnen said.

"He might started this, calling out Conor McGregor. He is in the middle or even towards the end of this experiment, and he is still calling out Canelo and he is still calling out McGregor.

"From the time that he started calling out Canelo or McGregor, in the fights that they've won and lost, Jake actually has a better record than Canelo and McGregor either separately or combined."
