Sonnen appreciates Paul's consistency and audacity in trying to set up these high-profile bouts, seeing it as a sign of his commitment to taking on challenging opponents.
In a surprising twist, Sonnen even claimed that Jake Paul's current boxing record, based on certain criteria, might be more impressive than those of Canelo Alvarez and Conor McGregor.
"He might have started this, calling out Canelo," Sonnen said.
"He might started this, calling out Conor McGregor. He is in the middle or even towards the end of this experiment, and he is still calling out Canelo and he is still calling out McGregor.
"From the time that he started calling out Canelo or McGregor, in the fights that they've won and lost, Jake actually has a better record than Canelo and McGregor either separately or combined."
