Tyson Pedro Unveils Debut Opponent Following Former Rival's Spectacular Move trucc

Former mixed martial arts beast Tyson Pedro has locked in another boxing debut after his last one fell over on the day of the fight.

Pedro, his camp, and the WBC were left fuming when Australian heavyweight champ Kris Terzievski abandoned their November bout on the morning of the event.

Terzievski checked out of his Penrith hotel and flew out of Sydney back to Victoria over a reported dispute about when his $120,000 fight fee would be paid.

The WBC reportedly said it would never work with him again and Pedro said he felt "robbed of this opportunity for the belt".

Now the former UFC fighter is getting back in the ring for what will be his first professional boxing bout.

He will take on undefeated Pakistani boxer Taimoor Khan for the WBC International Bridgerweight Title in Sydney on February 26.

The Stan Sport card is titled Nowhere To Run and will also feature Alex Leapai Jr and Jackson England.

NRL superstar Nathan Cleary is in Pedro's corner to help his fellow Penrith product.

"Tyson asked me to come down to give him a few tips for this fight, and while I don't know much about fighting, I wanted to show my support and get behind him," Cleary said.

"I love how Tyson has been testing himself, not only crossing codes from the MMA world to boxing, but also only going up against dangerous, top 10 opponents instead of taking the easy way out."

The full card for the event will be announced in the coming weeks.

It will be broadcast on 9Go as well as Stan Sport.
