Two Countries, Two Weddings: 'Love Is Blind’s AD & Ollie Go Big on "I Do" liennhi

Love Is Blind stars AD Smith and Ollie Sutherland are going all out with their wedding plans! After announcing their engagement during the Love Is Blind Season 8 reunion on March 9, Smith and Sutherland revealed that they plan on having two ceremonies to honor both their families. While the reality couple have already chosen their wedding date, they want to keep it under wraps for now.

During the March 11, 2025, episode of Smith’s podcast, What’s the Reality?, she and Sutherland shared that they are planning a wedding in the U.S. and another in the UK. The first ceremony will take place in the U.S. so that all of Smith’s family can be part of the celebration. While Sutherland’s family will attend the event as well, he wants a “big thing” in the UK for his loved ones who can’t make it to the States. Not just that, but the couple is also excited to have two big ceremonies to celebrate the happy occasion.

Sutherland appeared on Love Is Blind: UK Season 1, and Smith was part of Love Is Blind Season 6. While the couple did not meet each other in the pods, they connected while filming Netflix’s dating reality series, Perfect Match. During the Love Is Blind Season 8 reunion, Smith and Sutherland revealed that their respective stints on Love Is Blind helped lay the foundation of their relationship. The reality stars credited the show for helping them understand what they were looking for and communicate more openly with each other.

‘Love Is Blind’ Producer Responds to Criticism Against Season 8

Love Is Blind producer Ally Simpson wants the fans to know that their feedback is being heard. Simpson recently spoke to Rolling Stone magazine and addressed all the criticism that Love Is Blind Season 8 has been receiving. She assured the viewers that the team is constantly working to improve the show. According to the producer, she always wants to do justice to the stories of the people on the show, even if the audience doesn’t like it at times.

One of the biggest complaints this season was the perceived lack of drama and chemistry among the cast. Unlike previous seasons, only one couple said yes at the altar. Fans also felt that the reunion episode lacked the usual confrontations and emotional revelations that they were expecting. However, Simpson clarified that the reunion specials are meant to allow the contestants to defend themselves rather than create new unnecessary conflict.

She also acknowledged that as the show has evolved, production has had a hard time casting participants who are serious about finding love. In Simpson’s exact words: “I feel like social media is scaring some nice guys off.” She added that the producers are now asking former participants to reassure potential contestants about the experience. Simpson added that since many viewers feel like the show spends too much time on the early-stage conversations in the pods, her team is thinking of how to tackle that going forward. At the same time, Simpson admitted that not all feedback they receive is constructive. According to the producer, her team knows “how to filter the useful from the mean-spirited comments.”

Love Is Blind Season 8 is streaming on Netflix.
