Shirley Ballas treated fans to a glimpse of her fun-loving personality on Thursday as she larked around her home before braving a freezing ice bath.

The Strictly Come Dancing head judge, 64, looked sensational as she took to Instagram to share a video of herself confidently strutting down her staircase in a chic yellow swimsuit to the tune of Roy Orbison's hit track Oh, Pretty Woman.

She paired the swimsuit with a black mesh beach cover-up and added height with gold platform heels.

To finish the look, Shirley accessorised with a classy black fedora, oversized shades, and gold hoop earrings as she made her way to her garden.

The video then shifted to Shirley strutting towards the ice bath, where she took several deep breaths to prepare herself for the freezing cold water.

The ballroom dancer looked shocked as she eased herself into the water and lowered her arms in.

The star joked about her glamorous ice bath routine, captioning the hilarious post: 'In a heel and a hat is how I like to take on my ice bath every morning (laughing emoji) … @brassmonkeyice.'

It comes after Shirley enjoyed a rare outing with her lookalike mum Audrey in Liverpool earlier this month.

The TV personality and her mother, 87, caught up with close family and friends during her auntie Barbara's 90th birthday bash.

Shirley took to Instagram to share sweet snaps from the fun-filled trip, and she cut a chic figure in a beige trench coat for the occasion.

She added to her stylish look with a cream jumper and an orange-print satin scarf, which she styled with black jeans and lace-up military boots.

Shirley was the spitting image of her rarely-seen mother Audrey as they sweetly cuddled up to one another in the photographs.

Audrey was the epitome of sophistication in a tan trench coat and black leggings, while she kept warm amid the cold climes with a striped scarf.

She added height to her frame with a pair of black heeled boots and toted her essentials in a large shoulder bag before heading to the birthday celebrations.

Shirley also shared pictures with their family and friends as they all gathered to celebrate her aunt Barbara's milestone 90th birthday.

She captioned the Instagram snaps: 'Just got back from a wonderful time in Liverpool with my mum, family and friends. Celebrating my auntie Barbara's 90th birthday.

'Great to see old faces. Mum got to see all her friends so I'm happy. We had a beautiful weekend. What have you all got up ? X

'Thank you to @crow_flies_transfers for transporting us both in style. It's great to support an old friend. For anyone who needs a taxi or transfer up north, you know where to go.' (sic)

It comes after Shirley gave an insight into her health and fitness regime as she revealed the eating tip she's adopted to maintain her size 10 figure.

According to Shirley, eating three meals a day becomes difficult once you hit your sixties.

She told The Sun: 'The first year on the Strictly Come Dancing tour, I gained ten pounds just in that one month. Then I realised you cannot eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, Shirley, you are over the age of 60!'

Determined to make a change, she decided to skip breakfast and lunch, opting for a hearty dinner instead - typically with rice and lean beef or chicken.

Shirley, who recently confirmed her split from fiancé Danny Taylor, 51, also practices intermittent fasting.

She told the publication: 'I've realised the body doesn't need as much food as I keep stuffing in my face, so I do take care of it.

'I don't have anything in the morning and normally around lunch I'll have a juice, and then about 4 or 5pm my mother does a lovely meal.'

Shirley recently revealed that her mother gave her a rice cooker for Christmas, prompting her to swap salads for sticky rice with beef stroganoff.

Eating one meal a day only provides about 750 kcals per day. The average male and female need 2,500 and 2,000 calories daily, respectively, to maintain weight.

Intermittent fasting, particularly the 18:6 method, has gained popularity for weight loss and maintenance.

It allows a six-hour eating window each day, with the remaining 18 hours dedicated to fasting, which helps the body burn fat.
