There's going to be some major changes when TOWIE returns
We can’t quite believe we’re actually writing this sentence, but the TOWIE cast are currently preparing to film series 36 of the Brentwood-based reality show. Yep, there really have been THIRTY-SIX series of the show since its debut in 2010, let that sink in.
Not that we’re complaining, of course, we can’t get enough of the Essex drama.
And it seems that we don’t have long to wait before the new series hits our screens as the likes of Junaid Ahmed and Saffron Lempriere have revealed that filming begins very shortly. But who’s taking part? And what’s this about the show moving to a new channel? Here’s everything we know about series 36 so far…
When does TOWIE series 36 start?
Show bosses are yet to confirm when the next series of TOWIE will start airing, but if previous seasons are anything to go by then it will likely hit our screens around the end of August or start of September. It's thought that filming will begin imminently as cast members like Jodie Wells have taken to social media seeking collaborations with clothing brands ahead of the cast trip.
Where are the TOWIE cast going for series 36?
The TOWIE cast always jet off on an exotic getaway to kick off a new series. They've previously gone to Bali and Cyprus and it's just been announced that they'll be going to Portugal for the first time.

What channel in TOWIE series 36 on?
TOWIE was originally broadcast on ITV2 before moving to ITVBe, but in a major shake-up, the show is moving back to ITV2. Series 36 will be broadcast on ITV2 every Sunday night and will also be available to watch on ITVX.
Who is going to be on TOWIE series 36?
There haven't been any big cast announcements made, so it looks like all of our usual TOWIE faves will be returning for series 36.
However, Ella Rae Wise's future has been called into question after she allegedly incurred the wrath of producers by dumping boyfriend Dan Edgar shortly before she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother.
'There have been ongoing discussions about Ella going on the trip after she dumped Dan off-screen. It causes a major headache for producers who would have ideally wanted their split recorded instead of Celebrity Big Brother benefiting from the storyline,' a TV insider told The Sun.
'She'll still end up going on the trip but she's definitely ruffled feathers behind the scenes and has some making up to do.'
