TOWIE's Becks and Livvy have had their say on close pal Elma's split from Sammy
The latest series of TOWIE is just days away, which means there’s not long left until we get our latest instalment of Essex drama and it looks like two cast members who are going to take centre stage on series 36 are Elma Pazar and Sammy Root after it came to light in June that they’re no longer an item.
A teaser trailer released last week shows things break down between Elma and Sammy as she’s seen confessing, ‘I want magic and I feel like I’m getting mediocre,’ before the Love Island 2023 winner tearily admits, ‘That’s why I hate getting feelings.’
Before we see their split play out on our screens, Elma’s co-stars and close pals Becks Bloomberg and Livvy Jay have lifted the lid on what went down between her and her Love Island: All Stars boyfriend and it appears that they never had much hope for the couple.
In a video which was filmed when the cast were in Portugal a few months ago, and was recently posted to the official TOWIE Instagram account, Becks said, ‘My little Sammy and Elma, we spoke to her the other day. She got a little bit teary, bless her,’ before Livvy added, ‘It was really sad to see her like that.’
Becks continued, ‘I just don’t feel like they was ever compatible. I feel like they was friends that shared a kiss that got a bit too much much and they didn’t know how to end it, maybe get out of it?
‘But listen, I’m sure they will come back and they can be friends again, but not right now because it’s a little bit too soon.’
The pair shared their feelings on their friend’s ex, with Livvy remarking, ‘But yeah, with Sammy, I feel like, bless him, he’s harmless, but it is like blood out of a stone. I feel like he’s still growing up and I feel like he’s just not the one for Elma.’
Becks chimed in, ‘I just think he’s a little bit shy, Sammy, on the shy side.’
Shy isn’t exactly a word we’d used to describe Sammy. Did they not see him cracking on during his first Love Island stint?
Elma and Sammy coupled up in the Love Island: All Stars villa at the start of the year, just weeks after they flirted up a storm during the TOWIE Christmas special.
Sammy arrived as a bombshell on day 16 and invited Elma for a sleepover in the Hideaway and their relationship went pretty smoothly before they eventually finished in fifth place. Although they weren’t tested romantically, Elma and Sammy were still involved in the drama as they often clashed with Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Curtis Pritchard.
The pair continued their relationship outside the villa and went back to filming TOWIE almost immediately, making their debut as a couple on series 35. Sadly, things weren’t meant to be and it was first reported that they’d split in June.
