The RHONJ couple also addressed the importance of keeping things "spicy" after 20 years of marriage.

Can a bit of jealousy benefit a relationship? Melissa and Joe Gorga seem to think so.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey couple tackled the subject during their May 28 appearance on Sherri Shepherd’s eponymous talk show. The host applauded Melissa and Joe for their successful marriage and questioned if they still got jealous after more than 20 years together.

“Yes. I think that’s actually part of why we’re so good together because we want to be together, we want to spend time together, we want to vacation together,” Melissa said. “I get jealous if he’s out enjoying the night and I’m like, ‘Don’t you miss me? Don’t you wish I were there?’”

In typical Joe fashion, the Jersey dad joked that Melissa was “more jealous” than he was and said she occasionally gets “crazy” when he goes out.

“[It’s like], ‘Where are you? What are you doing?’” he said about the calls he receives from his wife. “She gets crazy. I’m like, ‘All right, babe, I’ll come home.’ She loves me right here. I’m the same. I love her right here.”

Joe confessed that he also got jealous but understood the importance of giving each other space.

“Listen, I love her,” he began. “She can go do her thing but then after a while, if I know she’s having too much fun, I’m like, ‘Woah, where are you?’ Because I’m jealous, too. I want to have fun with her. And sometimes you do need your space, I get it. But you know what? It’s better to stay together because look at us now.”

Melissa credits Joe for keeping their marriage "spicy"
Melissa admitted she can “get a little sick of” Joe, but their busy schedules ensure they miss each other from time to time. She also credited her hubby for keeping their relationship “spicy,” even after nearly two decades of marriage. Joe agreed with his wife, whom he compared to a restaurant.

“I’ve eaten at this restaurant 10,000 times already,” he said. “But every meal that I eat, I’m like, ‘Oh my god, this is amazing’… I’m gonna date her forever.”

It’s clear Melissa is quite secure in her relationship, even with all the attention her husband receives from women. Joe touched on the topic during the Sherri sitdown, saying fans treated him much “differently” when Melissa was around.

“They’re very respectful [when I’m with Melissa],” he told the host. “But here’s what happens: If I’m alone and they’re ready to take a picture, it’s [a lot of] touching.”

The father of three claimed that he even encountered “moms” and “daughters” who suggestively told him, “You don’t know what we’ll do to you.”

Melissa laughed it off and theorized Joe was exaggerating: “I’m sure he gets a couple — he’s blowing it up, probably.”
