On Season 9, Episode 11, of Summer House, Amanda Batula, Paige DeSorbo, and Ciara Miller transformed the Hamptons vacation home into a "snoozefest" party, complete with a giant bed perfect for a power nap or, of course, an unforgettable photo op.
In the video above, Amanda and Ciara (and later Paige) brought BravoTV.com behind-the-scenes of the special occasion, sharing their thought process behind both the design and logistics of the party. "This is pre-snoozefest, we're gonna take you through the walk-through of what we envisioned in our heads when we wanted to throw this party," Ciara shared of the in-progress setup.
"We're having a bartender come [...] they've made us some specialty cocktails tonight," she continued. "We've got a blueberry bourbon drink, we've got espresso martinis, we've got beer on tap, also a wine, Hamptons sauvignon blanc on tap as well."
Ciara also pointed out that they had ice sculptures for the party and had a "giant trampoline" that they would be transforming into a bed. In addition, Amanda noted they would be "building some floating beds" for the pool and had "large dreamcatchers" handmade by the ladies.
"We have oversized bows, also made by us," Amanda said.
While the backyard started coming to life, Ciara (who made an outfit change) showed off the enormous iridescent balloons.
"Look at my big shiny balls, let's take a look!" Ciara joked as she patted the "giant" balloons that looked more like ball-shaped sculptures. "Look at how taut this is!"
Meanwhile, Kyle Cooke and Gabby Prescod went shopping for more liquor, dutifully piling multiple bottles and bags of ice into a shopping cart — a shopping cart Gabby rode on back out to the car.
Check out the end of the video above, and be sure to watch Episode 11, to see the beautiful finished product, which included various decorative details that rounded out the overall aesthetic.
In the episode, Paige reflected on how perfect the party idea was for her tastes. "Having a snoozefest party....this is what I worked my whole life for," she joked in a confessional. "I've worked my whole life to get everyone in the bed. Chef's kiss."
How does the Summer House cast come up with the themes for their parties?
Ever wonder how the Summer House crew comes up with their iconic party themes? In a past Summer House After Show clip the housemates detailed the thought process behind some of their most epic bashes. Spoiler: it takes way more time — and research — than you'd think.
"We have a group chat that we throw ideas on," Carl Radke shared at the time as Amanda noted, "We obviously make sure that it's going to be visually appealing. What can we get that helps visually explain what the theme is but also is like, a specific costume so people don't just show up in their everyday clothes."
She concluded: "And then once we find something where we're like, 'Oh my god, this would be awesome,' then we're like, this is the theme."
