Keyshawn Davis took to social media last night, reacting in surprise to Ryan Garcia’s loss to Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero and begging Turki Alalshikh to include him in one of his giant events.
GLAZING FOR GAINS
The WBO lightweight champion Keyshawn showed some class, not kicking a Ryan (24-2, 20 KOs) while he was down to dump on him. He admitted that he never thought Garcia would lose to Rolly (17-2, 13 KOs), even though he faced the biggest puncher of his career.
Rolly’s power looked well beyond the level of Gervonta Davis. The left-hand shot that Romero dropped Kingry with in the second round took all the fight out of him. You could tell Ryan didn’t want any after that. From then on, he looked catatonic, showing no willingness to engage with Rolly.
“What’s going on? I thought it was a hell of a fight, though, between Ryan and Rolly,” said Keyshawn Davis on social media, reacting to Ryan Garcia’s loss to underdog Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero last Friday night at Times Square. “For everyone that thought that was going to lose, we didn’t think it was going to be Ryan.
“One thing about Turki Alalshikh, he always has a plan up his sleeves. He’s got some tricks up his sleeves. It’s always going to be an upset. You never know what’s going to happen,” said Davis, in full glazing mode.
What is Keyshawn babbling about here? The only upset on the card last night was Ryan’s fight with Rolly. The other two main card fights went as expected, with the A-side fighters, Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez, winning their fights against Jose Ramirez and Arnold Barboza Jr. They were VERY boring fights due to the running from Haney and Teofimo, but the results went as expected. Devin and Lopez were both favorites against their opponents.
ME, ME, ME
“Everybody thought Rolly was going to beat Ryan. No, it didn’t happen. I’m not here to bash Ryan. I f*** with Ryan. It ain’t no love lost. He just lost the fight. Shout out to Turki Alalshikh for putting on these amazing fights. They’re magnificent. Put me on the mother f****. I know one thing. If they put me on this, I’d be hitting this s*** all night,” said Keyshawn.
Turki should put Keyshawn on one of his cards, but only if it’s against Andy Cruz. Other than that, treat him like a leper and ignore ‘The Businessman,’ because he ain’t about to step up. He’s being matched against tomato cans like Edgar Berlanga was with Top Rank. If Turki wants to put the entertaining fight in one of his career, he should give Keyshawn a ‘take-it-or-leave-it offer to fight his four-time conqueror, Andy Cruz. If he rejects the offer, never look in his direction again. He’d have had his one chance and showed his yellow stripe for all to see.
