Next up on our Washington Capitals report card series is T.J. Oshie. He's another veteran that finally had the chance to suit up for 1,000 games and there was a beautiful ceremony with his family back in March. How did he finish after his ninth season with the Caps? Let's find out.

The bascis are that he finished with 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in 52 games. He dealt with injuries throughout the season and to even get to 1,000 games was an acheivement in itself after spending seven years with the St. Louis Blues. Overall with the Caps he played in 567 of those 1,010 career NHL games while playing 443 with the Blues.

Natural Stat Trick
Now for the sad part of the article. Oshie's corsi for percentage in the regular season at five on five was at 44.41 percent. His expected goals for percentage was at 43.79 percent. His high danger chances for came out to 49.22 percent so he still wasn't afraid to crash the net. His goal in Philadelphia also helped push the Caps to the playoffs further proving the power of friendship is real.

Then on breakdown day it was emotional after the first round exit to the New York Rangers when he said the following at the podium after admitting he played through that series with a broken hand via Sammi Silber of The Hockey News:

""It's different than just being sore. A broken hand is like a hangnail compared to what I go through with my back.""

He added in that same article, "My issue is there's just not one problem back there. There's multiple things that we've got to find an answer for."

Oshie also said "if I'm in a state where I can't play, I'm usually literally on the floor peeing in water bottles. It sucks when that happens, and I can't pick up kids or do any of that until I go see Dr. Johnson out of Minnesota and he gets me all aligned, then I seem to feel a lot better."

Final Grade B: Oshie gave his all this past season to get the Caps back in the playoffs and as he ponders his future we take a step back and appreciate the greatness that he provided us night after night for the last nine seasons.
