Lindsay Hubbard has reacted to Carl Radke‘s appearance on Wednesday’s Watch What Happens Live with a post on her Instagram Story.
After Carl, 40, spoke of his entry into the cast’s house for Summer House season nine, and looked back on his awkward encounters with his former fiancee, who had since moved on with boyfriend Turner Kufe and gotten pregnant with their first child, Lindsay, 38, took to social media to express confusion and wonder why was Carl was seemingly attempting to gain sympathy from viewers.
“I’m so confused,” Lindsay wrote on February 27. “Didn’t this guy break up with me [two] months before our wedding … and now we’re supposed to feel bad for him because he wasn’t prepared for me to ‘really have moved on’??? Make it make sense.”
During the February 26 episode of WWHL, Carl was asked several questions about Lindsay, including one about his potential suggestion that she may have had lingering feelings for him.
“I think I maybe misread some of it,” he admitted. “What I’m trying to say is I think there’s maybe still some lingering resentments or feelings about how it all unfolded, not that she’s still interested in me, but still has things she has to say regarding me.”
Then, during a game of Can! You! Defend!?, Carl confirmed he could defend Lindsay’s reaction to him breaking off their engagement on camera and her decision to announce her pregnancy with a sponsored post.
“Get your money, but that’s not something I would personally, I don’t know, it’s not for me, but bless your heart. Go get that money,” he stated.
He also reacted to her pregnancy prediction, in which she declared she’d be pregnant by last summer, which she was.
“I can defend that. It’s great. Lindsay’s amazing TV,” he admitted.
Speaking of their interaction amid season nine, Carl said their relationship “got better” as filming continued.
“I was over it, but it was adjusting to the fact that she really was moved on, and it’s point-blank right in front of me,” he reasoned. “It was good healing, and I needed to see that. But a friend of mine called me after he learned she was pregnant. He’s like, ‘Dude, that’s the best closure you can ask for. She’s really moved on, and now it’s your chance to really believe that and go and move on.’ So it was closure, but it was a little interesting at first.”
At first, as Carl recalled, he was “nervous” to be around his ex.
“I wanted to say the right thing, and I wanted to, like, deliver the right line,” he explained. “It’s also a lot to take in. I had found out the previous day that she was actually pregnant. I pull into the driveway, and remember, we owned a car together, and I pull into the driveway in the car service that took me there, and it was our car that we had together. And that was the first thing I see. I’m like, ‘Oh there’s the old car.’ I’m glad I got to talk to her and deliver what I wanted to say, but I was beet red, and honestly, more nervous than I’ve ever been in a long time.”
“I hadn’t seen her, and it was all real,” he added.
