Summer House fans are already ready to learn what really happened during season 8 to lead to Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s split — but the cast says there is a lot more to see.
Lindsay and Carl’s broken engagement, which happened in August 2023, will be a hot topic when the Bravo series premieres on Thursday, February 22. However, Lindsay, 37, exclusively told Us Weekly that her breakup isn’t the most surprising thing to transpire this season.
“I really don’t think I would change anything,” Lindsay revealed in the latest issue of Us, on newsstands Wednesday, February 21. “I truly believe that the universe maneuvers in mysterious ways, even if you can’t see it in the moment. And as cliché as it is, everything happens the way it’s supposed to work out.”
When asked “who or what surprised” her the most in season 8, Lindsay pointed to her friendship with Ciara Miller. “[We] really connected this season and I think it will be fun for viewers to see our friendship develop and grow,” she told Us.
Paige DeSorbo exclusively told Us her most surprising moment was linked to relationship drama. “I think a lot of the romance or lack thereof. … You’ll have to wait and see who I’m talking about!” she revealed.

Paige DeSorbo
“A highlight for me was going out with Amanda [Batula] and showing everyone how much fun we are,” Paige, 31, said of her season high, admitting, “Sometimes, we just have to stay in bed.”
Ciara Miller
Ciara, 28, teased that the new season will be “pretty silly” for most of the cast. “We had a lot of laughs this summer. I got my own room. We made our themed parties even more epic than the previous summers,” she exclusively told Us. “Overall, it was a fun summer. High: We took it up a notch with our parties. Low: Anytime the roommates are fighting.”
Ciara, who joined the cast in season 5, explained that her most surprising housemate was season 8 newbie Jesse Solomon. “Poor guy had a rough entrance into the house, but he was able to recover quickly,” Ciara revealed. “He never failed to keep the entire house entertained all summer with his shenanigans.”
Kyle Cooke
“To be honest, I actually think the whole entire season we kind of got back to our roots and just had an absolute blast,” Kyle, 41, exclusively told Us ahead of the premiere. “Like sure, there's going to be some drama and there's some hookups and there's the typical ingredients that make for a super fun, entertaining summer.”
Kyle continued: “I just feel like everybody was good at forgiving and forgetting and we had a blast literally too much. ... We almost had too much fun.”
Lindsay Hubbard
“This was one of the most fun seasons we’ve shot in a couple of years so expect a lot of fun to be had!” Lindsay confessed, noting that her broken engagement isn’t a factor for most of the season. “It was a summer of the girls, and the energy is high when the girls get along!”
Amanda Batula
“Season 8 was one of our most fun summers ever,” Amanda, 32, exclusively dished to Us. “We threw some incredible theme parties that everyone really went all out for.” She recalled the girls getting “close,” which she called a “nice” change of pace.
Amanda explained that her “low” for the season was “of course the breakup” between Lindsay and Carl, admitting, “It sucked to see two friends go through something like that.”
Carl Radke
Despite making headlines in August 2023 for calling off his engagement to Lindsay, Carl, 39, told Us that the summer was full of good moments.
“I actually think one of our theme parties [this year] might be the best we've ever had this season. And then the new guys, Jesse and West [Wilson], they’re great,” Carl gushed. “We’ve had awesome guys, but I think Jesse and West bring another great energy. They're a little younger, but kind of remind Kyle and I of ourselves from previous days.”
Danielle Olivera
Danielle, 35, was single in the Hamptons for the first time in years after she and Robert Sieber split over the 2022 holidays. She exclusively told Us that she leaned into the single-girl summer vibe for season 8.
“It was fun,” she said. “There's a lot of friendships that are even stronger. Obviously, the end of a summer, not so great. But we had a really fun summer. We have two newbies that are just rock stars. We love them. It was really good.”
Jesse Solomon
“The season had a lot of laughs so prepare to have some fun. A highlight of the summer was a dinner weekend three where I felt like we all got along, and I was able to fully be myself with this new group of friends,” the newcomer told Us. “The lowlight was all the unnecessary beef I dealt with leading up to that point.”
Gabby Prescod
Gabby, 33, lived it up during her second season on the show. “It's so fun especially with the energy that West and Jesse brought,” she teased to Us. “The parties are bigger, the group dynamic is cohesive, it’s just generally a really good time.”
Gabby hinted that her “lowest point is hard to miss” this season but wouldn’t reveal any other details.
West Wilson
West, who is also new to the Hamptons crew for season 8, teased getting himself into a little trouble after meeting the group. “I may or may not have had a medical accident at the house that left me with a few scars,” he revealed to Us. “Classic rough housing with the boys in the backyard. I looked like a freak.”
He added that a “high point” came when he leaned on his housemates for help. “I was going through a professional crisis that came full circle in the house and the support I got from my housemates and crew made me so f–king happy,” West shared.
