Strictly's Janette Manrara forced to issue statement as Wynne Evans pulls out of It Takes Two - and fans have a burning question liennhi

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were expecting to see Wynne Evans and his professional partner Katya Jones on BBC's It Takes Two on Wednesday.

However, minutes into the programme, host Janette Manrara, 40, informed fans that this would not be the case, despite Fleur East announcing that they would be appearing on the show.

Issuing a statement, Janette said: 'If you've got any questions like, "Why are Chris and Dianne on when yesterday we said it was going to be Wynne and Katya?"'

'It's live TV, guys. You've got to roll with it, alright? Just roll with it.'

Fans then flocked to X, formerly Twitter, to speculate on the last-minute change and question where the dance partners were.

One person wrote: 'Obsessed with Janette addressing the change. It was meant to be Wynne today but it's Chris & Dianne instead. I wonder where Wynne is today?';

'What's wrong with Wynne And Katya?'; 'Wonder why the sudden guest swap for it takes two tonight #strictly.'

It's not yet known why Wynne and Katya pulled out of the show last minute and neither contestant has addressed the issue on social media yet.

On Sunday evening, Wynne found himself in the dance-off for the first time against Shayne Ward and it was clear the judges had a difficult time deciding who should remain in the show.

Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse opted to keep Shayne, while Anton Du Beke wanted to save Wynne. Meaning it was down to head judge Shirley Ballas to make the final call.

In the end, she decided to save Wynne and Katya ending Shayne's time in the competition.

Reflecting on his time on the show, Shayne said: 'I just want to say, you guys up there (the other contestants) are a dream. Every single day, coming in here and seeing you guys you helped me so much.'

'I want to say thank you to the audience as well for always being amazing for us all. This has been, honestly, one of the best things I've ever done.'

His dance partner Nancy Xu, 33, added: 'I'm beyond proud of this dance partnership. Shayne from week one until this point, every second you put your feet on the dancefloor you improved yourself.'

'You're a deep thinker, you always doubt yourself, you never believed yourself, but I never ever questioned you.'

'When I watch you, I feel proud because I've turned someone who has never ever danced in their life into an amazing dancer. You should believe in yourself. I adored this partnership.'

It Takes Two continues weekdays on BBC Two from 6:30pm.
