Strictly fans spot bizarre detail as Tess Daly presents results show - but some say it's a common industry secret liennhi

Strictly Come Dancing viewers couldn't help but notice a strange moment in the results show on Sunday evening as presenters announced the dance off.

During the latest episode of the show on Sunday, eagle eyed fans spotted that co presenter, Tess Daly, 55, wasn't actually hitting her hands together when clapping but was miming applause.

Tess - who co hosts the celebrity dancing show alongside Claudia Winkleman -  was introducing JLS singer JB Gill and his partner Amy Dowden as they re-performed their jive to Outkast's Hey Ya when she applauded the pair.

Tess, who wore a vibrant sparkly blazer for Sunday's show, was caught on camera comically throwing her hands together without her palms ever touching.

Spotting the strange mime, one viewer took to X to share the odd moment.

Attaching the clip of Tess' faux clapping, they wrote: 'So…Tess Daly can’t CLAP?!?! #Strictly.'

The clip - which has now gathered 200,000 views - has struck curiosity among viewers who took to the comments to theorise why the presenter appeared to be avoiding actually clapping.

A frame by frame analysis reveals that Tess is hitting her palms together - but fans aren't convinced by her avant garde technique.

The X user wasn't the only one to spot to the TV blunder with one commenting: 'This would have gone triple platinum on tv burp.'

Another joked: 'Yeah, it's terrible that they've only managed to get so far with those Tess robots.'

Meanwhile, others offered a more reasonable explanation for the strange moment, with one asking 'Probably got something to do with her mic?'

Another penned: 'When you clasp next to a mic it sounds bad, so you just mime. It is standard.'

During Sunday night's show, former footballer Paul Merson was the fourth celebrity to be booted off the show.

The 56-year-old and his professional partner, Karen Hauer, departed the dance floor after failing to win over the judge's hearts in a dance off again JB Gill and Amy Dowden.

Both couples were made to perform their routines again with Paul and his partner Karen, 42, performing their Samba to Car Wash by Rose Royce.

Meanwhile, JB and his partner Amy, 34, performed their Jive to Hey Ya! by Outkast.

Paul and Karen were awarded 19 points, putting them behind their competitors in the dance off, who won with 30 points.

When asked by host Tess Daly about their time on the show, Paul said: 'It's been really good. For anybody I talk to, I would say you've got to go on this show. It's amazing - everybody.

'There's a Tottenham fan over there called Lincoln and even he's nice!

'It's been amazing, honestly, amazing. I loved every minute of it, I've had a great teacher.

'She's been amazing, absolutely amazing and I couldn't wish for a better coach. I've loved every minute of it.

'I can dance now - I've won because I can dance, I couldn't dance before and I can half dance now. It's a bonus, absolute bonus.'

Karen then sweetly added: 'Absolutely, you've been a joy. I've never giggled this much. My abs are really tight now. I am so proud of you. Every week you have showed up, you have improved.

'You're what Strictly is about and I want to thank you for bringing such joy and just showing everyone that it is possible with a little bit of work and lots of giggles.'
