BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Layton Williams has said that he is ‘beyond humbled' after achieving a major accomplishment.
Rising to fame in the role of Stephen Carmichael in Jack Whitehall’s Bad Education, Layton appeared on the 2023 edition of Strictly.
Paired with Nikita Kuzmin on the BBC competition, Layton received four perfect scores of 40 during their season.
Losing to Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola in the final, Layton and Nikita finished as joint runners-up alongside Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell.
Since wowing the nation with his moves, Layton has found further success in the theatre world after previously playing the title role in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie on the West End.
On Sunday night (April 6), Layton won Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical at the prestigious Oliver Awards for their work in Titaníque.
The musical parody of James Cameron’s Titanic is told from the perspective of Canadian icon Celine Dion, who produced the film’s legendary theme My Heart Will Go On.
Set in a Titanic museum, Celine tells the story of what really happened on the ship as she claims that she is actually one of the disaster’s survivors.
Jukebox musical Titaníque saw Layton playing the role of the iceberg that the infamous ship crashed into in 1912.
With Titaníque also taking home the Best Entertainment or Comedy Play Oliver, Layton gleefully told those in attendance that he ‘won an Olivier for playing an iceberg’.
Taking to Instagram with a video showcasing what he got up to on the day, Layton expressed their delight at winning the award.
Layton posted on Monday morning (April 7): “Oh. My. God! Woke up an Olivier Award winner. Truly goooed and gagged.
“Thanks sooooo much for all the messages of love and support. I’m beyond humbled and proud.”
Famous friends and fans of the 30-year-old rushed to the comments section of his post to congratulate him on the win and wish him well for the future.

“Tonight is the one night that Hollywood and science come together, other than of course, that one magical evening where Dr. Fauci had a one night stand with Dame Judi Dench,” he said.
