Strictly Come Dancing star looks unrecognisable in unearthed topless snap from his modelling years - can YOU guess who it is? liennhi

This Strictly Come Dancing contestant looked worlds away from his TV heyday, in a series of unearthed modeling snaps.

In a set of black and white topless head shots from 1989, this iconic TV presenter offers a glimpse of his famous smouldering looks.

In his younger years, this star's chiselled jawline and eyebrow scar are out of full display as his rugged hairline is yet to grow to its full potential.

His slick, greying raven locks, typically styled into a low skinfade, were nowhere to be seen as he kept it trendy in the 80s with a floppy middle parting hairdo.

But after a recent weight loss transformation, can you guess who it is?

Nick, 62, looked incredible as he was seen pouting in his younger years for a modeling photoshoot.

Born in Southall, Middlesex, Nick moved to Mildenhall in Suffolk, attending St Louis Middle School in Bury St Edmunds, before relocating to Gunnersbury Catholic School for Boys.

Leaving school at 16, he had a number of entry-level jobs as a labourer, petrol station assistant and salesman.

He played in bands from the age of 14 and was constantly writing music, poetry and comedy, until he submitted a script to a BBC2 programme that invited children to make a video.

Despite his particularly stunning set of poses, Nick did not go on to pursue a successful modeling career but instead solidified himself as a household name in television.

Nick, who is also a writer, is best known for his work on home improvement shows.

He began his career in the late 1990s, gaining prominence as the host of DIY SOS - a popular series that helps families renovate their homes.

His charismatic personality and hands-on approach has earned him a loyal following over the decades.

In addition to DIY SOS, Nick has worked on various other projects, including Who Dares Wins, The Big Build and numerous specials for the BBC.

He has also appeared in quiz shows and has done voice-over work.

Now Nick has been capturing the hearts of the nation as he competes on Strictly Come Dancing, and is to perform a Charleston for Movie Week this weekend.

Last week Nick shared a health update just hours ahead of Saturday's show after it was confirmed he'd be performing.

The DIY SOS star was left sweating over his place after sustaining the injury while changing a tyre when his car broke down as he drove to his 62nd birthday last month.

Taking to Instagram, Nick said: 'On my way to the studios, this is show day. I've had the two days to learn the dance as well as I possibly can'

'I promise to give it everything tonight and try and perform it well, [pro partner] Luba [Mushtuk] has worked her magic in choreographing something amazing'.

'All I have to do now is perform it, It's been a tough week but I'm very excited to dance later this evening and don't worry about me, shoulder getting stronger every single day'.

'Thank you for all your wishes of support and all the love that's been sent and remember, I'm in the bottom four because of last week. If I don't dance well tonight I could be in trouble so please vote to keep me and Luba in the competition!'

Nick was given the green light from show bosses, a decision strengthened by his popularity among viewers, meaning he returned with professional dancer Luba Mushtuk for week two.

A source told The Mirror: 'Nick and Luba's attitude is very much that the show must go on, and they were thrilled when he was given the go ahead. They are even going to attempt a lift.

'Now that he's been told he can perform this week he is determined to come out all guns blazing and give the routine everything he's got.

'He and Luba are now rehearsing at Elstree to help them to make up the time they have lost this week.'

Nick's left arm was placed in a sling after the injury as he awaited news on his place on show.

On Wednesday night the TV star shared an Instagram video, revealing that his recovery is going well.

Taking to Instagram Nick said: 'On my way to the studios, this is show day. I've had the two days to learn the dance as well as I possibly can

'Shoulder is repairing very well. I saw a great physio today as well, that's helped enormously.'

'So I get another day's training tomorrow. The decision will be made tomorrow afternoon whether I can actually compete on Saturday,' Nick explained, adding he was feeling hopeful.
