EXCLUSIVE: A star of Strictly Come Dancing explained why he is content with the BBC competition and tour finally concluding.
JB Gill explained why he is content with Strictly Come Dancing being over.
The JLS singer, 38, has spent the best part of five months performing on the BBC programme and has missed out on spending quality time with his family due to the gruelling schedule.
JB has been married to wife Chloe since 2014, having met while she was a back-up dancer for JLS.
The couple share two children; Ace, born in 2014 and Chiara, who they welcomed in 2018.
He said: "There's a mixture of emotions now that the tour is done. I am happy because it's a long old time that I've given to Strictly, as we all have. We did 13 weeks on the show and then you go straight into the tour so it is full on.
"I've got a young family so of course, I miss them and they miss me, so it's nice to be back at home."
That being said, JB admitted he "loved every second" of being on the show and taking part in the tour with his two professional partners, Amy Dowden and Lauren Oakley.
JB was originally partnered with Amy, 34, for last year's series, however, the Caerphilly-born dancer was forced to withdraw after sustaining an injury.
Lauren, 33, stepped in for Amy and made it to the final of the competition with JB.
JB declared: "It was an amazing journey. I absolutely loved every second of it. It was an unusual journey dancing with both Amy and Lauren, but it was nice to go back on the tour and dance with them both again before it came to an end."
No stranger to becoming a finalist, JB also had huge success on The X Factor alongside his JLS bandmates, Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and Oritse Williams, coming in second to Alexandra Burke in 2008.
JB explained that his experience on the ITV music competition helped with his journey on Strictly.
The star said: "I think the whole process was helped by my experience on The X Factor and going through that. It was very similar in terms of its structure. You have to rehearse of course, do your press, your VTs and all your other bits and pieces.
"For me, as a performer, it really helped because I went in to it thinking regardless of what happens, you go out and give 110%. Sometimes it goes wrong but you go with it. I think having that experience, personally, was really helpful."
