Strictly Come Dancing star Nick Knowles has issued a health update as he detailed he's thankful that he is "able to walk again" following an injury last year.
The 62-year-old DIY SOS star participated in last year's Strictly Come Dancing alongside professional dancer Luba Mushtuk. Unfortunately, his stint on the BBC ballroom was fairly short-lived after tearing his ligament while attempting a jump during dress rehearsal.
He was also notably absent from week two of the competition as he tore his bicep while changing a tyre on his Range Rover.
Nick and Luba were eventually voted out during week five after a dance-off against Shayne Ward and his dance partner Nancy Xu, where the judges chose to save the latter from elimination.
Sharing a post on Instagram at the time, he said: "Well, that’s the end of the road for me on @bbcstrictly. But after the injury last week, getting back on the dance floor felt like a win in itself!
"Gutted I couldn’t stay longer to bring the amazing dances super talented @lubamushtuk had planned to life, but it’s been a fantastic journey. Wishing the best of luck to all the competitors - they’re such a lovely bunch. It’s been a lot of fun, and a reminder that it’s never too late to try something new! Thank you so much to everyone for all their support."
Since his exit from the show, the star underwent two surgeries, one to reattach his bicep, and another to build a new ACL and mend two tears.
Before Christmas he updated his followers on social media about the state of his injuries, as he penned: "Three types of knee brace and one type of elbow brace - crutches - game ready ice and pressure machine - pressure leggings - physio stretching out for months ahead but I want to be walking normally by start of February for the next DIY SOS.
"Katie my fiancée has been patient and supportive and amazingly patient with me - the worst patient in the world. It’s been frustrating and very expensive but I’m determined to get back to 100% fitness which I hope will be around August 2025. Thanks for all the well wishes and encouragement - happy new year all."
This meant that he was unable to attend the Strictly final that saw all of the eliminated contestants return for one last dance. Instead, Nick's latest health update was issued shortly after his wedding to 34-year-old Katie Dadzie.
