Strictly Come Dancing’s Nadiya Bychkova has admitted that ‘being single is beautiful’ in the wake of her split from Kai Widdrington
Fans of the BBC dancing competition were left stunned last year when the couple announced they were calling it quits after three years.
Meeting on the programme in 2021, their breakup was reportedly because of the pressures of working and touring with each other.
Kai has gone on to find love with Chloe Wells, who he met nine months after becoming single, while Nadiya, 35, has remained single.
Nadiya, who joined Strictly in 2017, has now insisted that she’s in a ‘really good place’ being on her own.
Speaking to the Daily Mail's Eden Confidential column: "Look at me - being single is beautiful. I'm in a really good place and I'm really happy."
After going Instagram official with Chloe in April, Kai told Christine Lampard on Lorraine back in May that he’s the ‘happiest’ he’s ever been.
He explained: “2025 is the half of 10 years, I'm turning 30 in August, and as you said, things come at the perfect time. I feel very, very happy, and it's largely down to my other half as well."
In the wake of her and Kai’s split, Nadiya revealed that despite working together on Strictly, they are no longer friends.
She told The Mirror in October 2024: "We work together but we are not friends and that's OK. One thing I can tell you is that when you see me dancing with him, it will be amazing because I'm a professional."
Meanwhile, Nadiya recently revealed that she made the decision to insure her whole body as ‘dancing puts food on the table’.
She told The Sun newspaper: "I do have things insured – everything I need for dancing. Dancing puts food on the table, so I need to make sure I am ok. I think it comes from when I was competing at the highest level.”
Nadiya continued: "I do a lot of workouts for my feet. It’s about building the muscles. You don’t want to walk in heels and twist something or break something.
"As we get older, we need to look after ourselves even more. If you twist your ankle, then you’re done."
