JB Gill has said he 'can't wait' for his next presenting gig after making his co-hosting debut on The One Show. The JLS star became Alex Jones' latest co-star during a recent episode of the BBC One show.
Introducing JB during Wednesday night's (March 12) show, a cheery Alex said: "Welcome to mid-week One Show and look who's by my side, we've stolen him from JLS. It's JB Gill!"
The Strictly Come Dancing star, who made it to the dance contest's final last year then replied: "They'll be fine without me. It's a pleasure to be here and what a treat of a show we've got lined up for you," before revealing Hairy Bikers' star Si King and nature broadcaster Steve Backshall as their guests.
Following the show, JB took to Instagram with a photo of him and Alex working together on the famous green sofa and said: "What a TREAT! I was LIVE for the first time on @bbctheoneshow tonight hosting with @alexjonesthomson and I had a blast!"
He went on: "It was a pleasure chatting with @backshall.steve and @sikingofficial about their upcoming projects and if you missed it, make sure you catch up on @bbciplayer. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!"
It was then at the end of his post that JB teased: "Can’t wait to be back soon." And his JLS bandmates and his Strictly pals were among the first to respond to JB's update.
Aston Merrygold said: "Need this more often please broski." Marvin Humes replied: "Well done brother! Love this!" Sarah Hadland cheered: "Yes JB," while Tasha Ghouri posted a string of clapping emojis.
Fans were also pleased to see JB back on their TV screens. @_.jess.lewis._ said: "You were a natural! Well done @jbgill." @concordemedialondon commented: "You were great."
@carolinejbuxton wrote: "I actually cheered out loud when I saw you on the sofa. Hope to see more of you on there." @taliaconway replied: "A regular occurrence pls pls pls." @the_boss_mum posted: "Hopefully this is the first of many! So natural." @barnsleygem87 added: "Well done J! Loved it! Tuned in especially to watch you as I’m not a regular viewer of the show. Can’t wait to see you back."
As fans know, JB was among the celebrities to sign up to Strictly last year at it celebrated its 20th anniversary. He was paired with professional dancer Amy Dowden who made her triumphant return to the ballroom after having to miss the previous series as she underwent treatment for cancer.
But there was upset when an injury heartbreakingly forced Amy out of the competition following the show's Halloween special with fellow pro Lauren Oakley stepping in.
JB and Lauren went on to compete together and landed in the grand final of Strictly 2024, which took place back in December, where they lost out on lifting the Glitterball trophy to eventual winners Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell.
The Strictly journey, however, didn't end there as JB, Amy and Lauren went on to become the first trio to take part in the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour, which kicked off in January and finished in early February.
