Janette Manrara has told fans she was 'trying not to' fill their feeds with her holiday snaps as she returned to social media after making an honest parenting admission.

It was at the end of last month (March) that the presenter and dancer ditched the UK with her husband Aljaz Skorajnec for their first family holiday with daughter Lyra.

The family-of-three headed to Mauritus as a late birthday present for Aljaz, who danced with Tasha Ghouri in the most recent series of Strictly Come Dancing with the dancer returning to the ballroom in 2024 after a two year hiatus.

Taking to Instagram at the time, Janette revealed, alongside a video of their journey to Mauritus before showing the inside of their large and lavish room they'll be staying in for the week: "SURPRISE!!!"

Janette went on to explain: "@aljazskorjanec birthday was February 19th, but we were in the middle of the move and I was rehearsing @chicagoonstage so we did not have time to really celebrate.

"So…. I was lucky to sort a holiday as a surprise and MY GOD did it work out well! It’s also our FIRST HOLIDAY just us 3 as a family, and the only one we’ll get this year until Christmas so the expectations are high!

"We are in Mauritius and staying at the @shangrilamauritius and I don’t know where to begin w/ how wonderful our first day was! For one, the surprise worked! He had no idea where we were going or where we were staying. Also, Lyra was a dream boat on the flight! Hallelujah."

Both Janette and Aljaz went on to share sun-soaked updates from the trip with their one-year-old daughter Lyra, having recently spent two weeks apart while Janette toured in Ireland with hit musical, CHICAGO, while Aljaz took Lyra home to Slovenia to spend time with his family.

But following their return to the UK, Janette seemed a bit reluctant to overload social media with her holiday snaps and sharing a select few to her main Instagram grid, she said: "I want to share so many pics and vids of our holiday at the @shangrilamauritius, but I’m trying not to over do it, so here are a few.

"We had lovely weather for some amazing beach days! Lyra had the time of her life, the the hotel staff were so great with her and making sure everything ran smoothly and comfortably for us. We even got some alone time as parents w/ a beautiful, intimate beachfront dinner!"

She added: "Everything about this trip was dreamy. It was our first one as a family, and it will be one we will cherish in our hearts forever! These are the moments we work hard for in life.

"Thank you once again to @shangrilamauritius, @kurt.macher, & @boundarypusher for making this so special for us. We are forever grateful #gifted #shangrilamauritius #holiday."

Fans were quick to gush over the sweet selection of snaps, which showed Janette and Aljaz playing on the beach and sipping fruity drinks with their daughter, as well as the couple enjoying candle-lit dinners on the beach.

It comes after Janette marked the recent Mother's Day in the UK by sharing a raw film about her and Aljaz's early period as new parents, which also saw them juggling their busy careers.

It Takes Two presenter Janette said alongside a personal video: "Happy Mothers Day! This photo was taken in a hotel room while we were on tour w/ @rememberingtour, while #ItTakesTwo was also on, and Lyra was only 3 months old.

"In celebration of Mothers Day, such a special day of the year, we are thrilled to be releasing a short film for all to see. (Visit the link in our bio to view it on our @youtube channel).

"It has been a passionate topic for us for quite some time; this short film is about empowering parents, and about breaking stereotypes. It’s not easy to co-parent when both are working… but it’s not impossible. This film means a lot to us, and we were nervous about when and how to release it."

She continued: "We are hoping us sharing our reality will give some support to parents out there who need a reminder that there is no one way system to raising a child, and that we are all doing our best.

"That you can have a career, and still be a good parent. This is for all the mothers who constantly doubt, for the fathers who want to let go of stereotypes, and for all the children that we are raising to see both parents working together as a team, in whatever way that looks like, to provide the best possible future for them. There is no one way system, there is only love."
