Dianne Buswell has been supported by Chris McCausland as she opened up about her recent loss on the new episode of their podcast.
Chris and Dianne first met when they were paired together for Strictly Come Dancing's 2024 series back in September, weeks before their first performance live in the show's iconic ballroom.
There were then emotional scenes in December when the comedian and the professional dancer won the 2024 series of the BBC One dance contest and lifted the coveted Glitterball trophy after beating their fellow finalists.
After their dancing journey came to an end, the emotional pair went their separate ways, with Dianne heading out with her co-stars on the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2025 tour, while Chris headed back to his stand-up tour, Yonks!, which he started before sgining up to the hit dance show.
While Chris and Dianne are still very much firm friends and working together on their very own podcast, Winning Isn't Everything. The latest episode was released on Thursday (March 13) and saw Dianne, who is currently in Australia, discussing the loss of her beloved grandmother.
Last weekend, the professional dancer shared how her recent return home to Australia has been bittersweet as she said a final goodbye to her grandmother. Taking to Instagram on Saturday (March 8), Dianne shared a video of herself and her Nan.
Alongside the sweet clip, she told her online following: "Rest in peace nan. Love you very much. I’m so grateful I was home to say goodbye to such a special lady in my life. Now go be with pop he has been patiently waiting for you."
She also took to her Instagram Story with the video and said: "RIP our beautiful Nan," before sharing a glimpse at the last moments they spent together as well as precious family-wide photos.
Dianne also shared a picture of her Nan's TV which showed her, Joe and the Strictly YouTube channels as the 'top watched'. Alongside the post, the Strictly star wrote: "At Nan's house these were her top channels [face holding back tears and red heart emoji]. Good choices, Nan."
But despite their heartbreak over the loss, the family also had a celebration as it was her nephew Roman's Baptism, with Dianne being chosen as one of his godparents. Sharing an adorable video of the pair on her Instagram Story, the professional dancer said: "I'm so honoured to be your godmother. Special christening day for our baby Roman."
Now, Dianne has been opening up to Chris on their podcast, which was opened by her asking her former dance partner how he was. He said: "I've been alright, Di. But more importantly, how have you been?"
She replied: "Look, I won't lie, I've had better weeks in my life but it's been an interesting one. There's been a lot happen in this last week since I last spoke to you. I had my gorgeous, beautiful Nan, she sadly passed away this week which is very, very sad.
"However, I have been looking at it in a different way and I'm looking at it as, I could have been in the UK, I could have not said goodbye to her. I maybe wouldn't have been able to see her before she passed, so I'm seeing it in a very positve way and I was able to be there for my family which has been really lovely.
