Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland details time Dianne Buswell 'kicked up a fuss' liennhi

Chris McCausland has opened up about the moment his Strictly Come Dancing partner Dianne Buswell "kicked up a fuss" over one of their performances.

The pair, who won the 2024 series of the BBC One dance show, first met when they were paired together in September, weeks before their debut performance in the iconic ballroom.

After a 13-week journey, Chris and Dianne were left emotional as they lifted the Glitterball trophy, beating their fellow finalists.

Despite parting ways after the show, they later confirmed their partnership wasn't over as they reunited for a new podcast titled Winning Isn't Everything, inspired by Dianne's dad Mark's comments to her upon discovering her partner for her eighth year on the show.

In a recent episode, they discussed their first ever performance on Strictly, where they transported fans back to the sixties with their Cha Cha Cha to The Beatles' Twist and Shout.

During the latest podcast episode, Chris confessed: "Originally we weren't going to do the Cha Cha Cha, They wanted us doing something else..."

Dianne was quick to correct him, commenting: "We were always going to do the Cha Cha Cha, Chris but we weren't going to be doing that song."

Trying to jog his memory, Chris prompted Dianne about which tune they were initially set to perform before she "kicked up a fuss".

Dianne owned up to her reaction, admitting: "I did, I thought, 'Oh God here we go. The first dance and she's kicking up a fuss already,'" then revealing they first planned on using Loco in Acapulco by The Four Tops as their track, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Social media users couldn't help but ponder how the pair's performance would have changed with this revelation.

One fan commented: "Did anyone immediately go to re-watch the cha cha cha after this podcast and watched it in a slightly different way after this week's inside info from the studio and rehearsal room."

Another responded, showing their enthusiasm for a repeat viewing, adding: "Yes, I did. I re-watch them all often, but after this, I had to check it out again. I feel it could be a weekly thing."

Someone else praised: "I loved the podcast as I always do. You both make me howl with laughter each and every episode. Well done @diannebuswell for sticking to your guns and getting that first dance changed to Twist and Shout. Oco Poco, just wouldn't have been the same."
