Strictly Come Dancing’s Amy Dowden said her ‘cover is blown’ as she made a major career announcement alongside Carlos Gu.
The professional dancers are two of the closest friends on the BBC programme, having recently joined forces for a headline tour.
Titled Reborn, the tour saw them travel across the UK throughout March and early April, including a West End show at London's Adelphi Theatre.
Branded a ‘testament to the joy of dancing’, the show was designed as an intimate portrait of their lives and journeys.
Both Amy and Carlos are both confirmed to be returning to Strictly later in the year, with the rumour mill currently in full swing about which famous faces will be taking part.
Amy had to leave the competition last year after only a few weeks due to a leg injury that saw Lauren Oakley partner with JLS singer JB Gill instead.
The 34-year-old was forced to miss the 2023 series of Strictly Come Dancing as she underwent treatment for breast cancer. She shared her diagnosis publicly after being given the news in May that year.
Amy’s return to the programme last year for Strictly’s 20th anniversary series arrived months after she confirmed she had 'no evidence of disease' following tests.
On Wednesday’s (July 9) edition of Lorraine, Amy appeared to talk to the Scottish presenter about Wales’ chances at the UEFA European Women's Championship.
With Carlos seen playing football in the background, Amy spoke about the importance of women’s football and got some insight from some young Welsh fans.
At the end of the segment, Lorraine teased that Amy and Carlos will be taking part in Channel 4’s upcoming season of Celebrity Hunted.
“It’s not just us talking to you this morning, some hunters have beady eyes on you both,” Lorraine said.
Amy went on to confirm that she and Carlos will be featured in the series which sees some of the most skilled intelligence agencies in the world trying to track down contestants.
“We are currently fugitives on the run in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, but I wanted to do this for you this morning. I’ve blown our cover.
“While I’ve been here I have been telling everyone about checking your chest for breast cancer. I know you do an amazing job of telling everyone about that as well Lorraine.
“We’re going to have to get going now because our cover is blown and Lorraine we have an outrageous way of getting out of here,” Amy said.
Shouting into the camera, Carlos added: “Catch us if you can hunters.”
Following the announcement, Lorraine Kelly said that the hunters are going to ‘know where they are’ and feared they’d ‘given it away’.
