The mum-of-one, who turned 40-years-old yesterday (January 24), became an overnight national treasure after securing 77.5% of the winning vote for the 11th series of Big Brother. 

Josie has plans of “treating the whole year like it’s her birthday”.

But before she was able to jet off on skiing holidays in France’s affluent Val d’Isere or celebrate at dinners with her celebrity pals, she was a financial sales representative living in Gloucester. 

Josie burst onto the scene in 2010 when she secured a spot in the Big Brother House.

She struck up a relationship with fellow housemate John James Parton while in there, and every night the British public would tune in to watch the then-25-year-old fall deeper in love. 

The on-screen romance sparked an interest in Josie’s love life which hasn’t wavered over her 15 years in the spotlight, 

Last year, her heart affairs made waves after she was snapped holding hands with fellow-presenter Stephen Mulhern backstage at Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Rumours started flying that they were secretly an item - and this was further fuelled by Josie jokingly admitting that she was “in love” with the 47-year-old magician.

First Boyfriend in the Public Eye 

Josie met John James Parton, 39, in the Big Brother house in 2010 and the pair fell in love in front of the British public at 9pm every night. 

In October that year, they appeared in a one-off fly on the wall show following their lives together called Josie and John James: What Happened Next. 

But they called it quits in March 2011 after John James cheated on her. Josie then went on to tell the press that she didn’t “trust” her ex-beau and never wanted to speak to him again.

She alleged in a May 2011 interview: “He put me through so many mind games. He used to go on about my weight all the time. He would take the p*ss out of my looks and make me feel ugly. He used to tell me I was thick."

The pair were embroiled in a bitter Twitter dispute in December 2011, with Josie writing: "You love winding and spreading lies to your deluded followers because that's all you have.”

John James responded: “I left YOU and still to this day you try and contact me, messaging me and emailing me. And I'm the one that needs to grow up and move on?”

In January 2016, the ex-lovers appeared to put their beef to bed when the Aussie sent her a video message as part of her interview with the Loose Women where he told her she was “looking very healthy at the moment”.

However, Josie appeared to make a dig at John James in 2023 after making her I’m A Celeb debut and declaring: "Snakes I'm quite good with actually, I fell in love with enough of them!"
