Shep Rose Reflects on Fighting for His Relationship with Sienna: "I Just Wanted Answers" tram

Shep Rose admits his romance with Sienna Evans didn’t play out as he expected. But the Southern Charm-er doesn’t regret fighting for the relationship.

He made his feelings quite clear in the latest episode of the Southern Charm After Show, explaining why he was so vulnerable with Sienna during their tense reunion in the Bahamas.

“I just wanted answers. I wanted eyeball-to-eyeball answers,” he said.

Season 10, Episode 10 followed Shep and his castmates to Nassau, where Sienna resides with her family. While Shep was seemingly excited to see the former pageant winner, his friends suspected the feeling wasn’t mutual, as Shep had trouble contacting Sienna once their plane had landed. After several attempts, Shep eventually got ahold of Sienna, who agreed to meet him at his hotel.

During their one-on-one, Shep delivered a heartfelt speech in which he declared his love for Sienna and revealed his hopes for their future.

“We both came out of the gate awfully hot and it was very passionate and wonderful,” he said. “That’s true, right?” 

Sienna agreed, saying they both “had a lot of fun.”

“And then it got hotter and heavier, as far as what we were saying to each other,” he continued. “And I’ve thought that maybe the universe had brought us together. You had mentioned to me, like, ‘Oh we would have the prettiest babies. We would have these beautiful kids who were smart [and] they’d be connected to nature and the ocean and we would just live all over the world and have adventures.’ This was in my mind… 

“You made my life better. You made me want to be a better man,” he explained. “I’m wildly, wildly attracted to you. And I’m actually in love with you.”

Although she didn’t give much of a response, Sienna still accompanied Shep to a group dinner but ended the night early because of a “stomachache.”

Hours later, Shep sent Sienna a lengthy text message in which he reiterated his love and gushed over her “perfect little freckled lips.” Some of his castmates described the move as “cringy”; however, Shep said he felt it was necessary to be honest and open.

“I respect the fighting for her,” Austen Kroll told Shep on the After Show. “I think it’s sweet that you did because don’t listen to anything other than your heart.”

Shep agreed: “I’m OK with it. Yeah, listen to your heart, follow your heart. That was a revelation that I had."

He then returned to the intimate conversations he had with Sienna, saying she never denied his recollections. 

"There’s nothing she could do to refute what I said because it was all true," he told Austen. "Then we went to dinner and there was a little electricity between us at that dinner. I could feel it… I was proud of myself for calmly laying out the timeline and the things we said to each other. They weren’t small, they were real things, and she couldn’t deny it because it happened… At least she didn’t lie about that.

“When someone shows you who they are, believe them,” he added. “But that doesn’t make it any less tough. I guess I’m more sensitive than I let on.”

Shep shared more thoughts on his breakup with Sienna in a February 21 Instagram Story, less than 24 hours after their reunion aired. He told his followers he wanted to provide “clarity” on the situation and asked them to “please take it easy on Sienna” as they shared some “wonderful times together.”

“So, I’m getting a few text messages from last night’s episode,” he began. “Yes, the texts were cringy, but I think you gotta understand, or try to, that I went from texting and calling two, three times a day, making plans for the future — really nice things, and then the rug is pulled out from underneath, and you don’t know why.

He continued: "It sucks. It’s such a helpless feeling, but here’s the deal… I have to be honest. I have to come at it with authenticity and realness, so that’s what I did and it sucked. But it was what was happening and it was a tough situation.”
