Shep Rose on JT Thomas’ Southern Charm Exit: ‘We’ve Lost Way Bigger Players in the Past’ tram

The new season of Southern Charm hasn’t even premiered, and there is already so much drama. As per social media activity, JT Thomas quit the show before filming even finished. Naturally, he couldn’t get into details about what happened, but he hinted at falling out with other cast members.

Veteran star Shep Rose, for one, had choice parting words for JT. The Bravolebrity bashed his former co-star by suggesting his departure wasn’t worth reporting on.

Shep Rose shared “a little thank you” for his former castmate

“I can’t believe, sorry JT, I can’t believe it’s all that newsworthy,” Shep exclusively told E! News in Miami on November 23. “I mean, he’s a nice fellow. Honestly he held Austen [Kroll] to task last season and Austen hates that. But we wouldn’t have found out certain things if it wasn’t for JT. So a little thank you to JT, but we’ve lost way bigger players in the past.”

It feels like the whole cast turned on JT, save for Venita Aspen. The fellow sophomore Southern Charm star seemingly tried to be a guiding friend to JT.

“He just was a little bizarre,” Shep shared of JT’s demise within the group. “You’ll see this season. I don’t think he was right and needed to sort some things out.”

JT informed fans on Instagram on November 8. He wrote, “It comes with a heavy heart to share that I have resigned from Southern Charm. Yesterday I informed Bravo that I will not be participating in the 2-3 remaining green room interviews remaining before szn airs 12/5 (I’ve done about ~9 thus far leading up to today) and that I no longer wish to participate in any ways moving forward with the TV show.”

“I will leave it at that,” JT concluded, “while I work on next steps to recover both physically and mentally from what has been an extremely challenging & exhausting year.”
