Shep Rose is getting real about his dating life.
Months after confirming his breakup with Sienna Evans, the Southern Charm cast member made it quite clear he hadn’t given up on love. Shep recently confirmed he was back in the dating pool, but said most of his connections were far from promising.
“It’s fun, and it’s also exhausting,” he told People magazine about his dating journey, “because most of them aren’t all that great, but you’re looking for that diamond in the rough.”
Shep Rose dishes on what it's like dating as a Bravoleb
Shep also touched on his status as a single Bravolebrity, admitting that the fame comes with a unique set of experiences, including concerns over potential motives and "insane" social media messages.
“You’ll meet someone, and they’re like, ‘I know you’re on TV, but I don’t watch your show.’ But then they’re like, ‘In season 3…,” he explained. “There’s something called hidden DMs. Unless I follow you, it doesn’t pop up on my phone. But if I do some digging, there’s a treasure trove, and they’re mostly insane. But if you’re in a dentist's office, you’re like, 'I’m just going to get into this hidden section here.’ It can be quite entertaining.”
And while his TV career has sparked some women’s interest, Shep acknowledged that the job can also turn off other potential partners.
“There’s a lot of good girls for whom reality TV is just a nonstarter, and I totally understand,” he said.
Shep Rose reflects on forming relationships in the public eye
Before his relationship with Sienna, Shep had dated Southern Charm’s Taylor Ann Green for roughly two years. The ex-couple experienced their fair share of ups and downs, including infidelity scandals and some post-split drama involving Taylor’s family.
Shep admitted that dating in the public eye was far from easy, as viewers were quick to “dissect” all aspects of his relationships, most of which were of the dramatic, messy variety.
“Being in a relationship on Bravo, the hit rate isn’t exactly very high,” he said. “Usually, they disintegrate under the bright white lights.”
Shep Rose explains his romantic "must-haves"
So, what is Shep looking for in a girlfriend? Well, when asked about specific “must-haves,” he insisted it all came down to emotions.
“I want to get a good feeling when they walk into a room,” he said. “I love feeling lucky to be there. And they have to feel that same way to a certain degree…. I love having a good time. I’m up for whatever, I love saying yes.”
