Bachelor Nation fan-favorite couple Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt found love and got engaged on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Since then, the two moved to New York City together and tied the knot in September 2023.
They’ve been keeping followers updated with their lives online, and recently shared that Serena is trying to get her green card.
This week, the couple took to Instagram to give an update on how the process is going and revealed that it hasn’t gone the way they hoped.
Joe posted a video and shared, “Okay, so today’s been a bad day. We’re out in Montreal, flew out here. It’s actually a very pretty city… but unfortunately, we’re missing a document for Serena’s green card interview so gotta come back next week.”
Serena also posted on her Story about the process and shared how she’s feeling about the delay.
Over a photo of her looking disheartened, she wrote, “We came to Montreal specifically for my Green Card interview and it didn’t go as we had hoped for today… I don’t want to get into the details right now but we’ll be back in Montreal soon to hopefully finish this process!”
Serena then revealed how long she’s been trying to get her green card and how she’ll feel once she receives it.
She said, “After a long 2.5 years of this I’m very excited for the day it’s done.”
Later, the Bachelor Nation star posted another update and shared her gratitude for everyone’s support.
“Thanks to everyone who reached out yesterday,” she expressed. “I just landed in Toronto and will be flying BACK to Montreal for my green card interview (again) on Monday! Going to have a fun weekend with friends to lift my spirits back up.”
