Shortest engagement ever?
“Bachelorette” Jenn Tran, 26, chose freight company owner Devin Strader before the 28 year old presented her with a dazzling Neil Lane design on last night’s finale of the ABC reality.
“Will you make me the happiest man and marry me?” Strader asked Tran, who wore a white Randi Rahm dress for the romantic moment.
Strader then presented her with a yellow gold engagement ring, which featured a sparkling 3-carat oval diamond set in a rounded tapered bezel.
However, while the season’s winner had carefully selected the sleek, sophisticated piece prior — even paying attention to specifics, like how Tran preferred gold — the couple’s love story ended up being short lived.
Before the footage of the proposal even aired, Tran addressed the audience during “After the Final Rose,” revealing that her and Strader’s relationship had already ended.
According to the physician assistant student, things changed shortly after the two left Hawaii as Strader began to pull away.
“I felt like I was secondary to everything else in his life,” she told host Jesse Palmer. “And I didn’t understand why.”
“We had a happy couple [visit] planned sometime last month early, and the night before, he called me and he basically broke off the engagement,” she continued, revealing that the break up phone call lasted 15 minutes. “He basically said that he didn’t love me anymore and didn’t feel the same way.”
Tran said that Strader “regretted getting engaged.”
While she went as far as suggesting that the two simply date instead, without the added pressure of a wedding, the two parted ways and hadn’t seen each other until Tuesday’s finale.
She also slammed his social media use after the breakup, grilling Strader in the “After the Final Rose” reunion about girls he followed on Instagram, including former “Bachelor” star Maria Georgas.
Thankfully, Tran’s future is already looking bright.
On Wednesday, it was announced she would be a contestant on Season 33 of “Dancing With the Stars,” alongside the likes of Tori Spelling and scammer Anna Delvey.
