Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford has candidly opened up about the moment she realised her status as a "fun mum" had expired with her son. The ITV favourite, who shares her 23-year-old son with her former partner Eamonn Holmes, 65, opened up about their dynamic in a recent chat.

Discussing whether her son enjoys teasing her, the 65 year old admitted it's usually her playing the joker. "He's 23 now, no he's not a wind-up actually. I probably do it more to him," Ruth revealed on Loose Women. She reflected on a "sudden" shift in how her son perceived her antics.

She noted: "You'll find this, when they are little, they adore you, they love you, they want to be around you all the time.", reports Devon Live.

"Jack and I are very close, I thought I was a really fun mum and I used to do things like sing, and I'd sing like the wrong lyrics and I'd get the name of the group wrong."

On the There I've Said It podcast, Ruth shared a humorous mix-up: "You know like Rizzle Kicks? I'd come in and I'd go, 'Ah, I love Twizzle Sticks, they're great'."

The duo, who were a familiar pair on This Morning, had a 14-year marriage. Speaking of the breakup to the same magazine, Ruth admitted she is "not delighted" about her marriage ending but has come to "accepted" the situation.

Embracing her new life chapter, she added, "So I am trying to now embrace the fact that I'm single and can make choices that are just about me,".

While Ruth appears to remain single, Eamonn has reportedly started seeing relationship expert Katie Alexander, aged 43.
