Ruth Langsford has been flooded with messages from her famous pals as well as her fans as she marked a fresh milestone nearly a year on from her split with husband Eamonn Holmes.
The former This Morning duo announced their divorce in May 2024 after 14 years of marriage, with the news coming as a surprise to many of their following.
In the months following the separation, Ruth has been candid about the challenges of adjusting to life post-divorce and in an interview with Women & Home magazine, she said: "You can let yourself crumble or you pick yourself up and get on with life. It’s a choice."
She added: "I’m not delighted my marriage is over, but I’ve accepted it. I’m trying to now embrace the fact I’m single and can make choices that are just about me."
Now, Ruth has been seen embracing turning 65 as she jetted off to sunnier climes with her TV presenter pal Lucy Alexander. The Loose Women star took to Instagram with the update on her special day on Monday (March 17).
She posted a picture of herself sitting on the golden beach looking towards the gorgeous sunset and said: "So this is 65….." She then added: "Thank you for all your lovely birthday messages," alongside a red love heart emoji.
Rochelle Humes was quick to respond to the post, as she wrote in the comments section: "Happy Birthday beautiful one." Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor replied: "Happy Birthday Ruth. Looks wonderful enjoy."
Loose Women co-star Coleen Nolan gushed: "Happy Birthday my beautiful friend.. hope it’s as special as you." Actress Dawn French shared: "Happy birthday lovely woman." Former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt added: "Happy birthday queen we love you."
Lucy, meanwhile, commented: "Loved sharing a beautiful week with you my holiday buddy! 65 looks damn good next year will be even better. Already planning." She also took to her Instagram Story with a snap of the pair on their trip and said: "My lovely Ruthie. Birthday girl. Quality time is everything! Belly laughing, being silly and sunsets."
Ruth then reshared the post and said: "Love you Luce... Thanks for organising this amazing birthday trip!" before adding a red heart emoji.
