RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Carmen Carrera Arrives on Real Housewives of Miami tram

It looks like the rumors were true! RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Carmen Carrera will make her debut on tonight’s episode of The Real Housewives of Miami. The model, performer, and activist joins the group as a friend of Kiki Barth, so she’s literally a friend of a friend. Check out your first look at Carmen below.

Rumors about Carmen’s involvement in RHOM have been swirling for over a year. When the ladies were filming Season 7, fans spotted Carmen at multiple cast events. However, when Bravo announced the cast, Carmen was nowhere to be found. They didn’t even list her as a friend, but in a sneak peek of Season 7 Episode 7, she makes her arrival!

In the clip, the RHOM cast attended the 2024 National LGBTQ Task Force Gala. Kiki showed up with Carmen, and she explained in a confessional interview that they met each other in the modeling world.

“She’s an amazing friend, so I’m so happy to have her in the group,” Kiki said.

Carmen’s involvement in Season 7 is just the latest example of RHOM being one of the most progressive and diverse shows on Bravo. During their original three-season run, a trans socialite named Lauren Foster was a friend to the cast. We also can’t forget Elaine Lancaster, the villainous drag queen who fought with Marysol Patton while in full drag.

One thing that Lauren, Elaine, and Carmen all have in common is that Bravo did not make them official cast members. It’s an unfortunate pattern of putting the community on the sidelines, so while we salute the network for the inclusion, we’re also hoping they can take it a step further in the future. Is it too early to start pushing for Carmen to get a mojito for Season 8?
