Whitney Rose has always been the positive vibes when it comes to the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Even amidst the battles, Whitney usually was the one keeping her head above water and looking on the bright side of life. But news of her beauty line shutting down has inevitably bummed the business woman out. So what really happened to Whitney’s beauty line? Here’s what we know.
Whitney Rose’s beauty line shutting down has cost the RHOSLC star a “fortune”
The U.S. Sun reported that Whitney has “quietly” shut down her beauty line. For the third time in four years, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star is said to be rebranding into a new company. Wild Rose Beauty is no more, and fans are curious about what went down. The company launched in 2021 after changing its name from Iris + Beau. But according to an insider, “Whitney shut down Wild Rose Beauty last year basically without telling anyone or announcing anything official. They lost a fortune. The loss was well into the six-figure range, especially since they had just rebranded Wild Rose Beauty, which they initially invested a lot of money into.”
After taking a look at the Wild Rose Beauty website, it is still active, but it looks like none of their products are ready to purchase as they are “labelled as sold out.” The brand’s Facebook page has been shut down. And Whitney hasn’t posted on Wild Rose Beauty’s Instagram since 2024. The outlet confirmed that the company has, in fact, rebranded to Sōl People. Most Wild Rose Beauty products can now be found on the Sōl People website. The products are still in their original packaging. Whitney joined Sol People in 2024 but has yet to announce her move on social media.
Could the Whitney Rose Prism scandal on RHOSLC have affected the business?
Even though Whitney has kept quiet, Sol People shared a press release last year regarding Whitney’s involvement. The company noted that Wild Rose Beauty would be sold “exclusively at Sōl People. Beyond skincare, Sōl People will feature a range of wellness products and digital courses to help harmonize the mind, body, and soul.” Photos of Whitney and the owner were also shared. The release added, “Additionally, the company will prelaunch with three digital courses covering self-love, manifestation, and digital business building, with more to come.”
Whitney was already trying to move past a scandal for her other company, PRISM. During the most recent season of the RHOSLC, Meredith Marks insinuated that Whitney cherry-picks ideas from Alibaba when it came to her designs. The PRISM website boasted, “Whitney & Amber-Lee bonded over the desire to inspire women to honor their healing journeys and to spread the message that when you heal yourself, you heal the world!” Whitney has denied ever taking ideas from the fashion website. But it is possible that trust was lost with some clientele amid the rumors.
Whitney Rose is set to rebrand her beauty business; will RHOSLC cameras capture the fallout?
The source added that there is a reason that Whitney hasn’t gone public about her new business or rebrand. The insider noted, “Quite frankly, it’s not going well. There’s still a lot she’s figuring out, and on top of that, things are not selling. There’s a lot of financial problems at play for it to even be an official rebrand, which it’s not yet.” Whitney has tried her best to keep the news on the down low. She recently spoke out stating that Wild Rose Beuty was “not done” – but did confirm the company is not currently selling products. She added, “I am no longer a part of Sōl People for the record.” And the mystery deepens.
Season 6 filming for the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is in full swing. There have already been sources that have confirmed Meredith is feuding with some of the women. And the Bronwyn Newport arrived late to the girls’ trip. If Whitney is going through financial turmoil, it can only be assumed that Bravo cameras are capturing it all. During Season 5, Whitney shared with cameras that she and Justin Rose invested $300,000 of their own money into Wild Rose Beauty and allegedly took out a $1 million loan. There is no doubt that this will be discussed if cameras are there.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is available to stream on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
