RHONJ's Teresa Giudice Denies She's Running From Tax Debt, Reveals She "[Made] Changes" to Team and is Taking Accountability, Plus Says She Wants Joe Back in the US for Financial Help With Daughters

Teresa Giudice is taking accountability for her tax debt.

After it was revealed earlier this year that she and her husband, Luis Ruelas, 50, had been dealt with over $3 million in tax liens, the 53-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star, who was recently called out for the debt on live television, confirmed she’s in the process of having her tax issues taken care of.

First, Teresa admits she “made changes” to her team amid ongoing rumors that she fired everyone on her team.

“I’m not running from anything. There’s a lot being said lately, and I get it. Some of it is from years ago, and being pulled into the present. I’ve made changes to my team to make sure everything is being taken care of properly. Anyone that’s ever dealt with tax-related issues knows it’s not something that gets resolved overnight. It’s a long process, but I’m confident in the people around me now, and I am focused on all the opportunities ahead,” Teresa declared on the June 25 episode of Turning the Tables.

According to Teresa, who was issued a $303,889.20 tax lien in March, she’s dealing with her financial struggles “by [herself]” after being forced to fire former members of her team.

“I did make changes to my team because I thought it was being handled the right way. And I hired now top-notch people, top-notch accounting firms … I’m taking accountability,” she vowed. “I hired this new accounting firm that I know they’re going to come through.”

While Teresa admitted that the entertainment business can be “shady,” she insisted that she wanted to pay her taxes and “do everything right.”

“I want to cross every T, dot every I, but unfortunately, sometimes you trust [the wrong] people,” she noted.

In addition to Teresa’s tax lien, Luis was hit with his own set of liens, one in the amount of $163,523.94 in December 2024 and another in March for $2,569,842.06. This brought their total past due taxes, as a couple, to $3,037,255.20.

Also during the interview, Teresa said that she would like to see her ex-husband, Joe Giudice, 53, back in the United States so he could help with their four daughters, Gia Giudice, 24, Gabriella Giudice, 21, Milania Giudice, 19, and Audriana Giudice, 15.

“I want him to help me because him living in the Bahamas just ain’t cutting it,” she stated. “[I get] no child support, no nothing, because he says he doesn’t have the money, so it’s like everything’s on me.”

Although Teresa said that Luis has been “great,” she added that the girls are “not his responsibility” as she looked back on the moment when WGN News host Larry Potash confronted her about not paying her taxes.

“That’s why I still work … and here’s this man attacking me. It’s like, I’m trying to work. I’m trying to work to pay my taxes. So what is your problem?” she asked. “You’re attacking me. Shouldn’t that be not allowed? A man attacking a woman, like how he was so fresh? I’m working to support my four children, and that’s what I was trying to do, and here you are attacking me.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is on pause ahead of season 15.
