Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Miami is spicier than ever! I don’t know what mojito recipe the ladies are using, but the drama is on a new level. This season, friendships are shifting in shocking ways. A prime example is Guerdy Abraira’s surprising squabble with Julia Lemigova.
The longtime RHOM friends have issues from the jump, and it is … weird. It seems like their problems stem from a perceived snub. And, it must snowball from there, because their relationship is severely damaged. I am a bit confused about this feud. In my opinion, it could have easily been discussed, and Julia and Guerdy could have moved blissfully forward. Instead, their friendship started to implode.
I suspect that there is more to this story. Perhaps, later in Season 7 of RHOM, we will get more details. For now, grab a “cockie” and let’s look at the origins of Julia and Guerdy’s feud.
Julia Lemigova is shocked by Guerdy Abraira’s actions in The Real Housewives of Miami Season 7
During the Season 7 RHOM premiere, Julia and her wife, tennis legend Martina Navratilova, were prepping for the arrival of the two little boys whom they adopted. Julia shared the news with her co-stars via a Zoom call. However, Julia was dismayed to see that Guerdy’s call dropped. Since she was the only one to miss the big announcement, Julia apparently felt some kind of way about it.
When Guerdy reached out, asking for another link, Julia was super busy. According to Julia, the news had already broken. Later, the couple received a text message from Guerdy saying, “Congrats.” For Julia, the message felt “cold.”
Plus, Guerdy’s recent behavior had been an eye-opener for Julia. As a result, she is “re-evaluating” their friendship. That seems a bit harsh over this one incident.
At Lisa Hochstein’s Old Hollywood birthday party for her boyfriend, Jody Glidden, Guerdy received an icy reception from Martina and Julia. After she greeted the couple, Guerdy asked how the boys were doing. In response, Martina gave her a fake, forced grin. Yikes! Then, Guerdy explained to Martina that her call had dropped during the Zoom. Yet, Martina didn’t discuss the incident with Guerdy or share her feelings about Guerdy’s text.
Guerdy shares RHOM cast member Julia’s text messages
Of course, Guerdy saw this entire event differently. She shared a screenshot of her text exchange with Julia via Instagram. When Guerdy was unable to access the Zoom call, she headed into a meeting. “Hi. Are u sending a new link? Never worked when I tried it 3 times,” Guerdy texted Julia. “Hi! Sorry, my friend, I don’t know what went wrong. Sorry you couldn’t get in. I had something amazing to tell you guys at the same time … now it’s out and [have] been publicly announced,” Julia replied.
A confused Guerdy wrote back, “Oh, ok, so I guess I’ll look online for this announcement?!? K.” Then, Julia responded that her “hands are literally full right now.” She added that Guerdy would understand when she read it. I’m still a little foggy about why Julia couldn’t reach out to Guerdy at some point and share the news, or just give an update.
RHOM alum Dr. Nicole Martin sided with Guerdy. She commented on a social media post about the drama. “This is the type of petty nonsense that makes being in this friend group too stressful,” she wrote. “Everything gets exaggerated and taken out of context for the sake of making a scene.”
Plus, both Alexia Nepola and Marysol Patton confirmed that Julia tossed a drink over Guerdy. I am shook. This story is crazy, as Julia was a support system for Guerdy amid her breast cancer battle. Thankfully, Guerdy is now cancer-free.
What is the status of Julia and Guerdy’s relationship?
Recently, Guerdy spoke out about the status of her friendship with Julia. According to Guerdy, she didn’t see a falling out with Julia in their future. However, Guerdy isn’t the only RHOM cast member whose friendship with Julia has dissolved. Adriana de Moura and Julia also had a friendship breakup. I adored watching Julia and Adriana together, so this one hurts. During filming for Season 7, the duo was spotted arguing loudly.
“So this season, you see that core disassembling of their friendship because there are some decisions and sides that people have to take,” Guerdy previously explained of Adriana and Julia’s dispute, “and so bad behavior gets punished. And it may affect people and how they play the sides.” Hello, drama!
“Right now, I’m not on speaking terms with Julia,” Guerdy stated. “Adriana is not on speaking terms with Julia, and everybody else, I think, is decent.” Wow.
Whatever transpired this season was enough to destroy two friendships. The misunderstanding about the Zoom call doesn’t seem like enough to torpedo Guerdy and Julia’s relationship. There must be an underlying issue that has torn these buddies apart. I do have a feeling that the truth will come out during Season 7 of RHOM.
