Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Miami has been spicy for our favorite ladies. Viewers were surprised by Guerdy Abraira and Julia Lemigova’s nasty feud. So, when cracks in their relationship were showcased during the RHOM Season 7 premiere, it was crazy.
Guerdy couldn’t connect with Julia’s Zoom call to the cast to announce that she and her wife, Martina Navratilova, were adopting two young boys. Instead, Julia suggested that Guerdy find out from media outlets. And at Marysol Patton’s party, Guerdy and Julia’s argument culminated in Julia dousing Guerdy. To be fair, Guerdy revealed that Julia had a facelift, which was a secret.
Later, the duo met and talked it out, making a pact not to discuss their relationship with the rest of the group. Welp, Julia mentioned it at Alexia Nepola’s Grecian party, and Guerdy took notes. Now, let’s dive into why Guerdy exposing Julia’s texts was wrong, despite Julia’s betrayal.
Guerdy Abraira shouldn’t have shown Julia Lemigova’s text on RHOM Season 7 Episode 7
Guerdy hosted a Celebration of Life to mark being cancer-free for one year. There were 40 guests, and the setup was “Guerdified.” All the attendees wore white, and the energy was positive.
However, Julia arrived first and took a moment to speak with Guerdy’s husband, Russell Abraira. She told him that she felt that she and Guerdy were now on a better path. Later, when Russell shared this information with Guerdy, the party planner was shocked.
“I’m not going to take sh*t lying down anymore, so we’re going to need to teach her a little lesson,” Guerdy told her hubby. So, while giving the second speech of the evening, Guerdy decided to bust out her lesson plan. She stated that she wanted to “clarify” some points for her friends. Guerdy added, “Last week it became clear to me that this person chose to continue to perpetuate the matter even more.”
Then Guerdy stated that she was going to “set the record straight by telling the truth and exposing the lies.” Suddenly, a text conversation between Julia and Guerdy about the cruise appeared on the wall. While Guerdy’s intention may have been to sweep away any lies, it landed poorly. Marysol called Guerdy’s actions, “Super f*cking dirty.”
It’s obvious that Guerdy wanted everyone to see that Julia invited Guerdy on the much-discussed cruise. Not the other way around. That showed that Julia lied about Guerdy offering to go and inviting herself. And let’s just say that the RHOM cast isn’t planning on texting each other anymore. Wise move, ladies.
Guerdy should have taken the higher road despite Julia breaking their truce
I must admit that Julia’s behavior towards Guerdy this season has seemed weird. She has started unnecessary drama and told some lies. When the formerly tight duo met up to hash out their problems, it seemed like they were slowly inching forward.
Then, at Alexia’s party, Julia mentioned being deeply hurt by Guerdy in front of the group. An annoyed Guerdy shut it down quickly, but you could tell her trust level with Julia went back to zero. Was Guerdy hurt that Julia broke their pact? Yes. Did it warrant a visual display at her Celebration of Life? Nope!
Guerdy was there to celebrate how she has embraced life since her breast cancer diagnosis. While that may include not holding in emotions that cause stress, talking them out privately would be more effective. Right now, Guerdy feels justified in her actions.
However, she may come to realize that she ruined her party by being rude and publicly shaming Julia. Before displaying the texts, Guerdy gave a heartfelt speech thanking her family, and also presented a check. By outing Julia’s private communications with her, Guerdy also tanked the beautiful moments that she created.
Plus, her RHOM co-stars were frustrated that they went to an event about cancer but were instead treated to a friend smackdown. And, when Adriana de Moura urged Julia to reveal her truth and share her messages, Julia declined. “Oh my God! I’m not going down to Guerdy’s level,” Julia told Adriana.
If Guerdy had spoken to Julia privately, viewers might have missed out on some great TV, but Guerdy’s relationships with the group might be in a better place.
