Reality TV Star Lauren Simon Issues Harsh Warning to Daughter Considering Love Island Stint on Celebrity Big Brother trucc

Real Housewives of Cheshire star Lauren Simon gave her teenage daughter Gigi some harsh truths about reality TV as she was in talks for joining Love Island

Reality TV star Lauren Simon issued a stark piece of advice to her daughter, who had her sights set on Love Island.

The Celebrity Big Brother housemate's 19-year-old daughter Gigi was rumoured to follow in her mum's footsteps. She joined in talks to appear on Love Island's summer series last year just months after her mum's appearance on ITV's revamped Celebrity Big Brother. Gigi is a social media influencer with a TikTok following and was seen cheering her mum into the Big Brother house.

It seemed like Lauren could have switched to be the one supporting her daughter by watching her mini-me on screen. However, Lauren has now revealed the pair had extensive chats about Gigi signing up to the show. Love Island stars have seen their lives drastically change upon exiting the villa as they amass thousands of fans, brand deals and media attention.

Lauren admitted: "Me and Gigi spoke quite a lot about her going onto Love Island, because I’m in reality TV, I know how hard it can be. You have to be quite thick-skinned, and Gigi isn’t really. She isn’t a tough character; she’s got a big mouth, and she can hold her own. She’s a very articulate and an intelligent girly. But I don’t know whether could cope with all the rejection on national TV - it’s tough - especially with men involved!"

She gave her daughter some honest advice before making a decision

"Also, last year she was very young - she was only 19. It was ultimately her decision to say no," she told Casino.org on behalf of the Mirror. Gigi put a lot of thought into the decision before turning it down as Lauren explained: "Plus, she is also at university doing a degree in art, and she didn’t think that Love Island would further her career."

The Real Housewives of Cheshire star won't hold back Gigi if she changes her mind, however, as she said: "I would allow my kids to do whatever they want. If she wants to do it, I’d support her, like she’s supported me over the years. The only thing she’s said to me though, is that I’m not allowed to go on OnlyFans, that’s the only thing! But I’m not sure a lot of people would like to see me without my clothes on anyway. Gigi has been in Real Housewives of Cheshire loads this year though, and she’s brilliant. She’s really good at it."

Gigi issued her mum a strong word of warning before she entered Celebrity Big Brother last year as she laid down some ground rules. Lauren excitedly pointed out her daughter to hosts Will Best and AJ Odudu in the crowd as Gigi cheered and waved. However, Gigi firmly said: "Don't talk about sex no sex!"

Will and AJ started laughing at the advice, as did Lauren, who then entered the house and waved goodbye to her daughter. However, in her VT Lauren said she "likes talking about sex" and called herself a "natural flirt" in the fun clip. When on the ITV reality show, Lauren claimed Simon Cowell was desperate to make her a star after he spotted her dancing on tables in a VIP club. However, Gigi was quick to publicly call out her mum as she claimed her story was a "remix" of the truth.

She said: "One thing about Lauren. Her stories never miss. My girl has lived. She's lived. She's like a cat. She's seen nine lives. We're going to put it down to the fact that he fancied her because my mum... this girl can't sing. She can do a lot of things. Singing? Off the roster. Take it off. She has actually told me this story. This the remix though. She told me that they used to go for a Chinese every Wednesday, so I will be clarifying this when she gets out. That probably happened after, to be fair."
