Opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Raven Gates Gottschalk on Season 21 of “The
Bachelor” and on Season 4 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” where she met her husband, Adam Gottschalk.
The two welcomed their son Gates in January 2022 and their second baby boy, Max, in July 2023.
Now, the mom of two is opening up about kids, “The Bachelor,” and healing from a past relationship in a new Instagram Q&A.
A fan asked Raven how she gets herself ready in the mornings and whether she has a routine with her kids. She started off by saying, “I actually have been slacking lately.”
She continued, “I usually take a shower at night, blow dry my hair, and then in the morning I will bring my curling iron and makeup into the living room and do it while the kids eat breakfast and play with toys. When I curl my hair it lasts a day or two.”
Another fan asked if Raven was ever able to sleep in while on “The Bachelor” or if there was a wakeup-call time.
The Bachelor Nation star responded that they were up very early. She said, “We were up bright and early every morning because there were a lot of b-roll to film, dates starting, one on one interviews, etc.”
Raven was also asked Raven if she has a name she likes for girls and if she plans on having more kids, to which she answered, “The decision right now is…No lol.”
In answer to a girl name she likes, she commented, “Goldie. It was our only name for a girl.”
One fan asked the Bachelor Nation star if she ever got relief or healing from her past toxic relationship.
Raven opened up and responded, “Yes!! A lot of you may not know when I was in high school and into college I was basically running / hiding for my life from a man…It was one of the worst times in my life…I have what I have today because of the grace of God, women that intervened, friends that told my parents, police officers and some unknown people I probably will never see again.”
She continued, “There’s so much that I could say about this time in my life that there’s not enough time / text to tell you. But I can promise you that there is a way out of abuse. It took me years to heal and some of it still shows up in parts of my everyday life. Or I’ll have a memory flashback. But I can honestly say I am not scared anymore nor do I have anxiety over this person or let it affect my day to day life like I lived bound by that fear for so long.”
She finished with a word of hope, saying, “Some days it felt like I’d never be okay again. But here I am living proof that you CAN have a different life than the darkness of abuse.”
We appreciate Raven’s bravery to be so vulnerable about such a sensitive topic and are so glad she is safe now.
Bachelor Nation sends our love and support to Raven, and love hearing updates about her and Adam’s loving relationship and their adorable family.
