Kensington Palace has issued an update on Princess Kate as she awaits doctor's advice regarding scheduled appearances.

The princess has only made one public appearance in 2024 at Trooping the Colour last month.

Kate was diagnosed with cancer this year and has stepped back from all royal duties as she focuses on her health.

The royal is awaiting her doctor's advice on whether she is well enough to attend the event amid her preventative chemotherapy treatment.

Wimbledon and Kensington Palace are not expected to provide an update on whether Kate will be at the tennis competition before Saturday.

However, the Palace has provided an update on whether Kate will make an appearance alongside Prince William today.

Royal aides have said the Princess of Wales will not attend a polo match at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor, Berkshire, according to the Express.

Prince William will be present at the engagement despite his wife's absence.

Last month, Kate opened up about her chemotherapy treatment ahead of her appearance at Trooping the Colour.

The princess said: "As anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days.

"On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well."

Despite this Princess Kate has made her feelings clear regarding the potential upcoming appearance, an insider has claimed.

A source told The Daily Beast that the Princess of Wales would "dearly love" to attend Wimbledon at the weekend and present the trophies to the winners.

Last year, Princess Kate awarded the Wimbledon trophy to Markéta Vondrousova after she defeated Ons Jabeur in straight sets to win her first Wimbledon title.

The Princess of Wales was also joined at Wimbledon by Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte for the compelling men's singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic in 2023.
