Piers Morgan’s ex-wife left ‘fighting for her life’ after freak accident as son Spencer reveals hospital pi... ngocc

Piers was married to Marion Shalloe from 1991 until 2008, and they share three children together - Albert, Stanley, and Spencer. 

Spencer, their eldest son, has now given fans an update as to what happened to his mum Marion, telling his legion of followers that she’d had a freak accident several months ago. 

Marion could be seen in a green dress standing in the middle of two of her children, Spencer and Bertie, in a hospital ward. 

He penned: “Seven months ago our mum was involved in a freak accident which left her fighting for her life… 

“We were told on more than one occasion that there was little hope if any but against all odds she hung on in there and thanks to the two heroic surgeons in the third pic and countless others at @chelwestft she left hospital today after 218 days on the ward.” 

Spencer continued: “The staff labelled her a minor miracle but they are the miracle workers. My family are eternally grateful for their incredible work. Never give up.” 

Piers’ son didn’t specify what had happened, but shared a string of images from inside and in front of the hospital. 

In one, the hospital staff all cheered as Spencer’s mum was seen walking out of the ward with a crutch. 

They all looked overjoyed that she’d made a recovery and clapped as she exited. 

Beneath Spencer's post, Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid wrote: "The best news," followed by a heart emoji.

And Loose Women's Jane Moore said: "She’s a tough bird."

There were amongst a handful of famous faces sharing their joy that Marion had made a recovery.

Fans in the comments also rushed to wish her a speedy recovery, with one person writing: “The dancing nurse made me emotional. She must really enjoy her job and surely loved looking after your mother. Bless your mum and all who looked after her at the hospital.” 

A second wrote: “Gosh so happy your mum is okay 🙏🏻 Chelsea & Westminster saved my life too, they’re earth angels.” 

A third person added: “I’m so happy to see dearest Marion finally walking out of there. My love to all of you and big love for Mazza, who is truly one incredible lady!!” 

Someone else echoed: “Absolutely fantastic news. well done to you all for not giving up. Xx” 

Marion herself was a hospital ward nurse when she married Piers in 1991.

Piers is now married to Celia Walden and has been since 2010.

Celia is a journalist and novelist.

Their daughter, Elise, was born in 2011.
