Paige DeSorbo Reveals What Really Led to Her Summer House Exit: "I Had This Gut Feeling" tram

Paige DeSorbo is sharing more insight into her Summer House exit.

The multi-hyphenate announced the career move in early June, more than six years after joining the series in its third season. At the time of her announcement, Paige didn’t provide details on what led to the decision but expressed gratitude for the experience.

“Being part of this show has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my life — the friendships, the drama, the giggles. All unforgettable,” she wrote in an Instagram statement. “But like all good things (and some bad decisions), it’s time for this chapter to close… I’ll always be beyond grateful for the memories, the community, and the opportunities this wild ride has brought me.”

Paige DeSorbo says she couldn't "physically" film another season

Paige reflected on her departure during a recent appearance on Larry Crespo’s Bravo by Gays podcast, revealing she began thinking about leaving Summer House in 2024.

“I like to say that I made this decision over months and months of thinking. And that is partly true,” she said. “I definitely felt different leaving last summer (Season 9). There was something where I had this gut feeling where I was just like, ‘This is probably the last time I’ll ever leave this house.’”

In the months after Season 9 production, Paige experienced major life changes, including a U.S. tour for Giggly Squad — her popular podcast series with Summer House alum Hannah Berner — as well as a highly publicized breakup. She was also creating the debut collection for her Daphne sleepwear line and was promoting her and Hannah’s first book, How to Giggle: A Guide to Taking Life Less Seriously. And while she’s never been afraid of a busy work schedule, Paige admitted that another Summer House season would’ve been too much to handle.

“When it came time to start thinking about the summer, I really just had a moment where I was like, ‘Wait a minute, I can’t go film a TV show. I’ll literally die,’” she joked. “I felt like that last summer… but this past spring, I was like, I really need time off. I don’t physically think I could film Summer House.”

Paige said she began discussing a potential exit with her friends and family, weighing the various pros and cons. She considered returning for Season 10 to promote her fashion brand, but determined her personal needs “overrode” any business advantage.

“I wouldn’t have been able to come this summer and be truly authentic,” she continued. “I’ve worked so much this year, I don’t want to go out on a Friday and Saturday night. It’s not my vibe anymore, and I feel like I was taking a spot from a younger girl who should have the same opportunity I had when I was 25, and she should run with it.”

Will Paige DeSorbo ever return to reality TV?

While she has seemingly closed her Summer House chapter, Paige said she was open to returning to the small screen… someday.

“I would never say never because I love being on TV. I love production. I love the entertainment industry,” she said. “As of right now, I think I’ve been out of reality TV for, like, two seconds, and I’m enjoying it. I wouldn’t say that I would be going back or filming a similar show [to Summer House] where there’s an ensemble cast, it dives into your life… If something popped up in the next two years? Maybe. But as of right now, I just don’t see it for myself. I kind of feel I need a little bit of a break.”

Paige also expressed interest in working behind the scenes, perhaps in a producer or showrunner capacity. The New York native told Larry that she and Hannah “have so many show ideas” that could be executed through the Giggly Squad brand.

“There’s definitely a world where me and Hannah are back on TV with an idea that we came up with… I feel like Hannah and I also have show ideas for other people,” she explained. “So the world of Giggly Squad, I really do see it becoming so much more. Of course, we’ll always have the podcast, but I think we will expand in the next couple of years.”

Paige’s cultural impact was further highlighted at the 2025 Las Culturistas Culture Awards, where she received “The Allison Williams Cool Girl Award.” Get all the details on her acceptance speech.
