Paige DeSorbo Reveals Real Reason She Left Summer House tram

Paige DeSorbo disappointed a legion of Summer House fans when she decided to quit the show. In June 2025, she made the public announcement that she would not be returning after seven years.

Noting all her new business ventures, the news was met with both disappointment and understanding. The fashionista shared a goodbye message on her social media, with the typical niceties. But Paige delved deeper into her decision during a recent podcast appearance.

Why did Paige DeSorbo decide to quit Summer House?

“I’d like to say that I made this decision over months and months of thinking,” Paige shared on the August 4 episode of the Bravo By Gays podcast. “I definitely felt different leaving last summer. There was something where I had this gut feeling where I was just like, ‘This is probably the last time I’ll ever leave this house.'”

With her Giggly Squad podcast tour taking up the entirety of Autumn 2024, Paige was understandably overwhelmed with filming Summer House Season 9. In addition, the reality TV star was “really busy” launching a pajama line, named after her beloved cat Daphne.

“When it came time to start thinking about the summer, I really just had a moment where I was like, ‘Wait a minute, I can’t go film a TV show,'” Paige shared. “‘Like, I’ll literally die.’ This past spring, I was like, ‘I really need time off. I don’t physically think I could film Summer House.'”

She explained, “You would think, like, Daphne was coming out, I’d want to promote it on the show. And that was always my plan. Come out with something and be able to promote it on the show. But just the way I felt personally, it overrode anything professionally with Daphne.”

Unlike her former co-star, Kyle Cooke, who hasn’t slowed down his partying ways, Paige decided that she has moved on to a different phase of her life. And perhaps it was time for a new cast member to make her own mark.

“I wouldn’t have been able to come this summer and be truly authentic,” Paige concluded. “Because I’ve worked so much this year, I don’t want to go out on a Friday and Saturday night. It’s not my vibe anymore and I feel like I was taking a spot from a younger girl who should have the same opportunity I had when I was 25.”
